GS-4 G Force Seat Replica!

    Hello everyone!, I am about to start a newwww prooooject! :) after doing the CXC Racer Replica! I want to add the G Force seat from SimXPerience but it is "Discontinue" no longer available, so I think I can do this using! SimTools, 2 JRKs, 2 Potentiometer, 2 small 12V motors high torque and a Kirkey Racing Seat!

    My plans are to automate just the back of the seat using "Roll" settings from SimTools to simulate Gravity, please see the video I created so you can visualizes what I am talking about, in the video i am simulating the movements of the motors! you just have to imagine that you are looking at the top view of the seat,

    You would want to use sway instead of roll.

    Sway is the lateral G forces which is what the GS-4 uses. Roll would just give you the body roll of the car which in a race car is not that much.

    I have a GS-4 that I sometimes run through Sim Tools (Most the time I use Sim Commander) and the only DOF's I add to it are the G forced based ones so Surge, Sway and Heave.

    Update on this project, i cut the wings of the seat because it was on the way to get seated, i also mount the arm for the 2 large motors, i also install the seat bracket and i got the small motors in and the JRKS see pictures, stay tune more to come.

    I will be watching this thread with interest. I have a Kirkey seat and cover that I've had for over a year. I originally planned to make a DIY GS-4 seat but my wife sadly passed away and I haven't done anything with it. In fact I've done almost no sim racing since and am looking to rekindle my interest.

    I do though think that two motors per moving leaf would be more stable ?

    You do not seem to have done base settings for the JRKs, the Input 'Never Sleep, box should be checked, you have not used the auto calibration feature for the Feedback, the PID period would normally be 20, the Integral Limut set higher and then the PID tuned, on the Motor tab it would normally be set to Coast.

    Hello everyone, sorry about this but I decided to abandon the construction of the GS-4 Force Seat Replica, the reason: the Kirkey Seat is to hard on the back! It has no cushion no foam on the back and is very uncomfortable to stay seated for longer period of time.

    Sorry for those that were waiting updates on this…

    I am replacing the Kirkey Seat for a Corbeau fx1 pro.

    Yes, it really needs the Kirkey seat cover and preferably some high density foam underneath that as well.
