Is the pedal distance adjustable? I was surprised how far forward I have to move mine.

And as above. I have my rods angled at around 7.5 degrees out from the shoulder mounts.

You ideally want more than that. Mount the motor's on the Most outward corner, then you'll have somewhat ok angles. How wide is your frame itself ?

    Quite narrow actually.
From profileoutside to profile outside 540mm.

We have to stay quite narrow, since we have to get through doors easily...
I'd say it definitely possible to get it to like 7-8° with increasing the overall width to around 600mm.

I may be able to shorten the upper profile even more, but it already has quite some stress to deal with now.

    @Nick Moxley
This I what I get from making it 60mm wider. Looks quite good I think.

Better, Is there a particular reason you want it so narrow ? Wider would definitely help the motor's.

It has to stay narrow, because there will be a shell put on top of it which adds another 10-20cm on each side,
and we have to get through 90cm doors :D

That's quite narrow as you say. It also makes the footwell very narrow and not
    that confortable. :(

Just to add, we will use these motors:

I would make it as Wide as possible. Does it need to go through doors on a regular basis ?

I think so, I may ask my teachers about it again.
It is intended to be shown at sereral exhibitions in order to catch the kids :p

Furthermore it HAS to fit into the elevator.

I also just made these for the PSUs (we have exactly the same HP PSUs lying around in school :D):

I am just wondering which pots to use. I wanted to use 260° pots with 10K resistance.
Ideally I wanted to calculate them, but I can't find anything in the JRK manual...

Use the link for part # reference only. You should be able to source some hall effect's from ANY where in the world. Newark Evement has distribution center's ALL over the world. Just check the top right of the site and find the closest to you.

You can order the suggested pots via http://element14.com, they have global distribution outlets.

    Thanks mate :)
Once I am finished I will upload the calculations too, the teacher said, it would be a bit risky to do that before ;)
What I can show you soon is what the Design Program shows in terms of stress on the parts (still calculating since 6hrs...)

A few new renders for you to enjoy:
Notice that the profiles for the Steering Wheel are WAY too long, some wrong numbers slipped in there..
I played around a bit, and placed the PC components where they belong (the cooler and the GPU are way bigger than the ones we are using)

Are you really contemplating mounting a caseless PC under the seat ? For some reason i feel that's a bad idea...

    Ofcourse not :)
It's just not my task to make the case. I am the guy for all the mechanical stuff, the case and the overall looks will be done by our "Designer" ;)

Just wanted to add: We are allowed to make it way wider now. It will be 750mm now.

That looks way better in terms of angles. about 10° a little more actually :)

That's actually what I am most conserned about...
    The Design.
Nothing has happened until now really. But if it will continue like that, I'll have to do that too.

Hope he will move his .... better sooner than later, otherwise we are all somehow screwed :p

As time moves on we are currently cutting the profiles for the simulator, nice!!

On a sidenote, I am planning to build pretty much the same thing myself at home too, since i pretty much have all that's necessary but the motors.
However I want to use other motors, because they will be easier to mount.

The big question is are these better than the car jacks for personal use?
22Nm, 30W, 65 RPM. (I need "cheap" 12V because we got the JRK V12 cheap so I want to go with 12V)
