Some time ago I bought 2 car batteries and a charger for the firgelliauto actuators, but never used them, cause I felt it is too long winded (battery acid, charging vapors etc.) to handle them in the living room.

The firgelliauto.com acutators are rated with 3A max.

Do you think this transformator could fit?

    Or perhaps a smaller one?

aaagh, I just dismissed a brand new .750KVA laminated core that sold for $10 to the next person at navy disposals!

At 20amps your toroidal should handle the load of 2 actuators, even if startup under maxload is more than 3A. In my setup I include sealed lead acid batteries to help filter ripple and protect the H-Bridge from regeneration issues.

How are you thinking of regulating and filtering once you have a DC supply?

I thought a rectifier and a capacitor would be the only thing I'd need. Any suggestions?

I was advised to put big massive capacitors after my rectifier but I couldn't find any cheap enough for my thrifty pocket! As much as I would have liked to have used big fat ones I ended up with 1000mfd at 50V.
As for a possibility of regeneration issues, your motors don't free wheel so that should minimise any issues with regenerating back into a wall power supply.
