    Makes sense now. This was the first thing I had 3d-printed. I made notes of "high density to avoid honey combing" but never understood what that really meant until comments above.

    Well Q1R hasnt got back to me with a quote, so there is still a chance to get this redone with 100% infill (as Shannon described above)

    So, the group i went through for the 3d prints has agreed to re-print the hub free-of-charge with 100% infill - WINNING !

    Further, they are going to change the material from ColorfastXT to either ABS or Nylon. Will give an update once I have collected/tested the new piece.

    So the 3d printer has a GREAT sense of humour !

    As a reminder: the Original 3d-printed steering boss in ColorFastXT under 30Nm peak

    And the new piece printed in Nylon with 100% infill @ 100micron.

    Short story is:
    (1) The part hasnt failed under 30Nm continuous testing in granity (or in-game - only 5 laps conducted so far)
    (2) The steering feels MUCH better connected (I suppose less slippage). Skip Barber in rFACTOR2 feels INCREDIBLE. Weight transitions is all there.
    (3) I'm still a terrible driver :)

    I like Shannons idea of mounting a standard QR to this as a steering boss - great if you already have this gear lying around.
    I dont, so to be as cost-effective as possible. Will run two steering wheels via sliding on/off two 3d-printed hubs.

    Thanks to this DIY tutorial the savings of going 3D QR vs commercial, reduced my outlay on the OSW by close to 10%.
    Nothing to complain about at all !

    thank you, i have contacted some members from 3Dhubs now, it looks like the nylon and ABS materials are quite expensive, at least $60USD

    On the other hand I have sourced a CNC provider in china who can make RacingMat's design for $43! I also found one when can make it for $9 but the minimum order quantity is 2000. Group buy anyone?

    Hi, 3DHubs is what I used.
    That is a fair bit more than what I paid. Makes sense to go for CNC.

    I have had the steering wheel vibrate off the shaft in play - so still sussing out the design in general.
    Its possible I didn't apply the bike clamp tight enough so still experimenting etc.

    Hi Racingmat,

    that looks great! What I need would be an 52mm bolt pattern QR for the Fanatec Wheels to connect them to the MiGe. Do you or your friend actually sell these aluminium quick releases?
    Also, would it be very difficult for you to change the 3D file from 70mm to 52mm bolt pattern? I downloaded FreeCAD yesterday and gave it a try but I was totaly overwhelmed and did not knew what to do since I never worked with CAD :(
