It is still being sorted out, and coins will not pay for it, nor a download package.

Hello everyone and hello especially bsft. I'm new here and was intrigued by my good friend Boomslang's incredible work to get motion support for two of my favorite games....Daytona USA and OutRun 2k6(*waves at Boomslang*).

Boomslang mentioned in a brief sentence over at the BYOAC forums a while back that the folks behind simtools is trying to get the program to support bass shakers and butt kickers. I am very excited to hear this news and I hope you guys are successful in this endeavor.

Not 100% certain, but it appears bsft is one of the major players behind the development of the SimTools application, am I correct? If so, then I wish you the best of luck in getting simtools to support bass shakers. I plan on buying some bass shakers later on this year so this is something I'm *REALLY* excited and hoping for!

Thanks for this effort bsft and please keep us posted on the progress on this. :)

    Hi Guy’s!
    I’m still working on it!

The reason it has taken so long is that it’s a huge task.
Since we need to give the option in the plugins for “buttkicker” support, this means the game plugin API needs to change.
Which in turn means ALL of the plugins need updating, AND all of the apps that use the API also need to be updated.

On top of all of this, I had to create a sound library and an app (GameVibe) in order to do something with this new data (drive a buttkicker).
And a ton of trial and error in order to get everything working the way I think it should.
This is why I have chosen on adding GameVibe (buttkicker) support into SimTools 2.0 and leave 1.0 alone.

So I had to take quite a few steps back in order to take a huge step forward.
Once I have 2.0 in beta and all of the companion apps out for it, I will finally be able to concentrate only on the GameVibe app and finish it up.

As Robbie showed, my test app is working as it should and is driving the buttkicker quite well.
Now to finish up all the backend stuff and start having some fun GameVibe!

Because I have been asked a few times I thought I should add more…

The goal of GameVibe is to be able to support up to 2 sounds cards, each supporting up to 4 sound locations.
I want GameVibe to support both 2d and 3d vibration feedback (should the game be able to support 3d kickers)
And the GameVibe system needs to be able to be expanded, should we find new forces that can be used for kickers. (Think turbo or landing gear).

All of the ground work is done and tested.
It’s only a matter of time until I get the rest out and we can start testing the kicker system!
And I can finalize the GameVibe app from a tester to a final product!

    take care guy's!

Thank you sir! OK two questions....

1)So just to confirm I have this understood correctly.....GameVibe will support all games that are compatible with the SimTools Plugin? For example OutRun 2006, Daytona USA, Grand Prix Legends, etc?

2)Also what about the idea of having steering wheel FFB effect utilization for games have yet to have SimTools support? In other words an option to send rumble from steering wheel FFB to our Buttkickers/Transducers? Will GameVibe offer it?

    @isamu
    1) If the game supplies some data we can use for GameDash, then yes!
(out of the gate I will try to support RPM, Turbo, 2d bumps(heave, sway, surge), 3d bumps (wheel/shock data FR FL RR RL).

    2) If SimTools supports the game there will be a plugin for it. If someone wants to capture the FFB data and send it down the GameVibe channel im sure we could figure out what to do with it. But I feel it would be pretty inferior output to the direct data coming from the game.
