Hello all, thinking about a 3 dof I came in a 2 dof different style, with more stroke....

It can be faster to (i think), because u can use individual motor for each movement...

All have a good and a bad side... the bad side about this style is the $$...

But it's worth for me as other motors or actuator are REALLY expensive here...

2 motors for roll and 2 for pitch....

Here is a photo: (Soon video)

up is pitch, middle is roll and the one in bottom is the base...

JUST A EXAMPLE SCRETCH... need a lot of improvement, waiting to hear people from xsimulator to start drawing a descent prototype...

Sorry if it already exist, but i dont saw it before...

The approach would add to build complexity and overall height, but I suspect it could be made to work.

Is there no other motor options like 12V winches or car jacks that are available and affordable in Brazil?

Dear Noorbeast, I think a good winch will cost the price of like 5 wiper motors... Used wipers and a new winch...

I think a good way for me to use winch is to buy 3000lbs winch and make a 3 dof with a God travel, without joint in the middle... It would take like more a year to save money, but I think it would be worth... It can be possible or not?

About the design, yes, the bottom motors would have a little more weight, but I don't think it would be much, as would be just motors weight and a little more from structure... It would be steel tubs, so I think it would be light... Thanks for ur opinion :)

Not wanting to jump straight in with a negative :) , but my only concern would be that you would have to tune the motors very well not to overshoot in movements which could restrict the other plate. For example in full tilt, one motor's is pulling down (in effect) which then might negatively impact upwards pitch. You'd end up with a system that binds or "slams" into the panel underneath / above.

To counter that, make the middle plate shorter than the upper plate, in fact, you could make it round and with a shorter diameter than the top plate, for maximum clearance.

Thanks Archie, it sounds a good idea...
Let me check if I understood correct, while one motor is going up other is going down, with maybe a different that is a tolerance it would be bad... Maybe 2 motors in the same side? About the plates, I think if I put 2 motors in center long and then 2 in lateral it won't give interference in moving... But with inclination it would cause extra weight...

    I liked the circle idea...

About winch, this would be good?

2000 lbs, I think about 2 wiper motors price... Roose winch motor, u can search this way in English

    I can't see the 3rd dof... :(
Sorry but I think it is not worth the time and money, if you will use winches, with 2 it will be enough for 2dof, there is another way to get the 3rd dof using 4 motors:

This guy has a thread here.

Dear all, after seeing ur videos, thinking about a little and putting on mind all that all said, I'm going to winch with 2MM each winch...

I have some questions... why not 3000 lbs winch?
3x3000lbs couldnt be used for a 3 dof ? with no pivot....

what time i can use simulator with winches without problem ? Saw some pdf that winchs can be used 8-10 min and have to stop about 5 min...

Can u help me in this @Pit ?

    What about this design ??
