Actually it's not the water that does the cutting.

The water caries small particles of diamond that do the cutting.

Yeah, I love water cutting, I use it for heaps of little bits and pieces. It is really quick and easy, just draw it out and send it to the cutter.

Here are some examples of things I have cut out

Lever arms for my motion simulator

Mounting bracket for my Accuforce contoller box (This is what I was cutting in the video)

Mount panels so I could run my DSD CSW button boxes on my Accuforce (Derek designed these and I cut them out and powder coated them)

Badges for my 1975 Hillman Avenger

Yes, That is correct. My friend uses Garnet in his cutter but you can use diamond.

Here is his website which he explains the process, it can cut metal up to 150mm thick http://www.abrasivewaterjet.co.nz/#!text1/c2b2

This is the cutter he uses

Thanks, yeah I love designing all the little part on my rig. It is probably over-engineered but I wanted it to look nice.

My friend sent me a link to a facebook post about it last night, https://www.facebook.com/ModifiedCarEvents/ which page did you see it on?

It is a shame that they always use such old photos :) I think that one was from when Codemasters did a feature on my rig, before I had motion.

Thanks for sharing that. That is pretty crazy, 20,000+ shares and 2,400+ comments.

It is a shame that the photo is so old. People used to love my rig when I had all those gauges and what not. Now days my rig is much simpler and less flashy but it is better with the 180 degree FOV and VR.

That photo was mid-2014 so before I did my motion simulator.

    Thanks. It is still evolving.

I am just about to start work on my rear traction loss.

I'm just always one step behind you :( Damn you ;)
My next plan is also to do a traction loss to my rig..
But before that I'm trin to make some plates with mirror wrap on to get the bezels on my displays disappear. .

But looking forward to see your traction loss creation ;)

Very cool work, but the image "Rewiring the existing buttons" has a picture of a QFP44 chip sliced in two. I realize it wasn't needed anymore, but just makes me squeamish, like watching someone's hand caught in a vice. Maybe I'm just too much of a geek, to feel sympathy for a chip.
    But yeah, awesome work!

Thanks. I have been quite busy and a bit slack about updating my build thread.

Yes, I am afraid many chips were harmed in the making of my wheel :(:( But don't worry, his valiant sacrifice was not in vain and shall always be in my heart. R.I.P QFP44, you shall not be forgotten... :(:( He has moved on to a better place now, the great PCB in the sky.

But seriously. I did feel a bit stink when I was cutting up the old wheel. I did it all on a bandsaw and I felt quite bad ruining a perfectly functional PCB. It did put out a fair few sparks as I hit the copper tracks and chips.

Your cable routing is very neat. In my head, all my rewiring jobs look like that, but I actually end up with something like this:
