That looks cool, I have a small one in my shed! It reminds me of a similar project by some guys out of Brazil (I think). They called it the "Flymotion". Youtube has some videos. As for my model, I use rotary encoders, not pots. Encoders (can) have a lot of resolution and are digital in nature but you can't use them for absolute tracking like you can with pots unless you pay the big dollars. Some other guys on this forum have suggested using hall effect rotary something somethings, can't recall the proper name, but they work in a similar way to pots. Good luck.

It is also possible by using 2 offset pots. I have seen this on a lab power supply, I though the 360° knob used to change the volt / amps values was an encoder, but when I opened it to tighten the connectors, I was surprised to find 2 attached offset pots.

My simulator is only 360 degrees in one direction they set it up to do it in the roll. It uses 8 wires through a Slip ring. mercotac is the manufacture of mine.
Its great it brings 110 volts for the projector and sound system. then the other 5 wires were for safety switches sent to the control board.
I could have used 8 more wires. That why I joined this group to catch on to tricks.

I went to look at this unit and I would need enough amps to run a computer / monitor / sound system.

That's cool but after about 5 minutes with me in it, it would look like a washing machine full of sick.

I have lost my warehouse and what a mess the roof clasped back in Jan from the snow. Also Job responsibility have taken me on the road.
Now after months of negation Insurance has kicked me to the curb. So I will have to let this mess of a project go.

It would be good to see this go to someone local. Salt Lake City Utah

I have listed it on the local classified ads. I can trade.......I don't know if this would be the correct forum to post price so i won't. So good bye to the simulation side for a while.
Thanks Guys this is the best site for simulation..
