    Amazing job, congratulations.

I was see the 6dof working with big motors, but now I see the answer to my question.

You're right it seems to a motorcycle curve, I think it comes from mixing roll and traction loss.

    Thank you Mauro M3
If you can take big engine that will give you more feel and will last you longer

I'm working on a flight sim that basically uses a drive shaft mounted to a chair for it's roll. I'm not looking for 360 degree rotation, but rather more like 180. Try to picture a steel bar running through a series of pillow block bearings. On one end a sprocket driven by a chain, driven by a motor (or maybe even direct drive to reduce backlash), and on the other end my chair. Everyone is recommending AC motors 750w and larger, but the current required scares the hell out of me..not to mention they seem really complicated to control via PWM even with a VFD. The business end is pretty light (like I said just a chair, joystick, and a skinny las)...Does anyone know of a geared DC motor that packs the punch to do this job? I've done the math, granted it might not be correct...but roughly 250nm seems like it could/should do it. Any input would be grrrreatly appreciated.

Very nice work, your simulator is compact, highly responsive, beautiful challange for a 6 dof

    zigzag49, amazing job!
    congratulations
I think it will be an inspiration for my future project
just one question: what is the feeling with traction loss? It's similar to real one?
if you have some free time, could you make a video about that movement?

That's an inspiring build. I didn't think it was possible to build such a small and compact 6dof.

    Well done.

    thank you.
At the moment the simulator is a new seat configuration mover, I just do a little video with the loss tensile any mobile there is a good feeling.

@zigzag49 i was viewing your thread for one more time and every time i want to ask about the suspension. can you show with a video how the suspension works in action? i am curious how it works with surge and sway effect

    Hi
Sorry I board not have time to make a video, the shock absorbers have been removed because I do not need are being given it're mover seat configuration. I remake this video Weekend for traction loss that was asked.

Zigzag49, this is a truly inspiring build! :D You have given me hope that I can fit a 6DOF sim in my studio apartment space. I see that you are using rather small threaded rods and connectors to your DC motors. Do you believe the 24v motors and PSUs you've chosen could handle a larger degree of motion with a similar load to what you currently have, if we were to lengthen the rods and their connectors to the DC motor?

I ask because it seems that your build is very conducive to driving simulators, but wouldn't offer too large range of motion when it come to flight simulation. I think I'd like to adapt what you've made into a compact flight sim, but would need to modify the sizes of the rods a little. I'm not sure if that would demand too much of the motors though.. Also I may go the JRK route to save on needing to wire and code too much.

Great job, your compact 6DOF looks to be really responsive and carries the load really well :thumbs
