here is the pic.... I went to 3 hardware stores and only found 20 feet of PVC, so here is as far as I got....
My goal is to make more of a motion simulator for vr goggles and animations such as roller coastes etc.. figured this looked like a good place to start.... Learn, modify and improve on the whole experience.

So here are a couple more pics.. The gimble frame is black pvc because they didnt have 3" white. I have some plumbing clamps holding the casters on and will do the same on the main frame to get this thing balanced.

Looking good man. What is your expected bill of materials?

Being an elite dangerous fan I'm interested in doing a joyrider for my next project, if I can get my foreman to approve, that is.

I havent gotten all of the pvc yet, but so far I am well under 200 dollars, maybe around 200 before the motors and electronics.... I have ordered 1 motor so far for about 100 dollars on ebay. so counting that I guess I am at about 300 for the frame with 1 motor....

Looks good so far! I'm planning a Joyrider type sim myself, but with a significantly different frame out of steel. I'm optimizing my design for flight sim (kids prefer flight sim, while I prefer racing) so I would like to get about 45 degrees of bank, and maybe 20-30 degrees of pitch, with the screen moving with the rider/pilot. A joyrider type setup seems like a better fit for that range of motion than the other 2DOF configurations I've looked at. I am a bit concerned about the size however.

I'm struggling with the best place to put the motors and how to do the linkages. Have you sorted this out yet?

the black pvc frame (roll) is going to be mounted on the bottom center with a bike chain gear. It will attach to the frame forming a v shape... this seems the easiest and least complicated for that movement, and I am hoping for 45 degrees in each direction. I havent quite worked out how to do the pitch yet... will look into that when I get ther I guess... :)
