Hi to all, my name is Leandro and live in Santa Fe, Argentina.
Sorry for me english, Spanish is my original language.

I'm read many post for build my 2 or 3 DOF.
First searching for me are (and know the costs):
    1 Wipe Motor (12v or 24v)
2 IBT-2 or Monster Motor Sheild

Searching found on web AM Equipment company build Motor with 38Nm.
Please visit AM Equipment for datasheet (i'm new and can't post link).
    Cost: $110.50 Online price.

my question is: this motor works for 2/3 DOF ???

    Thanks so much.
    Best Regards for all.
    Leandro.

From your description this is the one you mean, which is out of stock: http://store.amequipment.com/238-se....html?osCsid=1f21f0b8b288db0da0204f69cae7cce5

Though the 24V version is in stock: http://store.amequipment.com/238-se....html?osCsid=1f21f0b8b288db0da0204f69cae7cce5

From my quick look I could not see gear ratio and RPM specs, I guess they are there somewhere.

However, all that aside what motor best suits a project really depends on the design, so I think you are getting ahead of yourself looking at motors. Best to do some sketches of the design(s) you have in mind and post them asking for comment and what sort of motors may be needed.

First, thanks for you reply noorbeast. You are right in your comment, but you have experience, but I do not.
Here is very hard import any part (import are closed or almost por people, for company a little easier). i found company in my country
represent AM Equipment company and sales this wiper motor. I see many post with wipe motor 12v/24v, 200w, 20nm torque.
Only need your opinion (experience) AM wiper is better ??

Thanks for remember me "wiper motors need to be ground isolated"
I see you post, and you have a problem with gearboxes 60:1 and change for 25:1 (if I read correctly). How many time runs 60:1 ?
That's why motive I do my consultation on motor's. For more explanation for you, here are very dificult and expensive build sim, for this reason i need all system with 12v and i have "ONE shoot" for having a good and long life simulator.
    Argentina Cost:
    Power Supply (used) HP DPS 600 12v 47amp U$s 80.00
    Arduino Uno Rev 3 Atmega 328 U$s 25.90
    Monster Motor Sheild U$s 49.99 for 12v
    For 24v IBT-2 U$s 86.90 (need 1 for each motor and 2 power supply)
    G 27 U$s 410.00
    Seat U$s 280.00
Hall Sensor, forget it here they do not exist. Import, impossible (charge for paying with credit card 35% + tax for import electronic componet 50% + shipping)
    Forget: Motors, Metal, etc.

    Big dream with DK2 U$s 350 + 35% +50$ + shipping +many forms to be completed

I think to construct something like this and add Track Lost

very similar to your simulator in size. Certainly your work in aluminum is very good and excellent, i can´t do that.

I run 60:1 for the 2 front motors and 25:1 for the singal heave engine. I have only ever had issues with one specific 60:1 gearbox, the other is as good now as it was when it was purchased. I have changed the problematic 60:1 and have not had issues since.

Mine is a 500x500mm base, which is very compact, but I think you would want more design leverage than I run if using wiper motors. Honestly if you have one shot at a good sim then you would be much better off with a shoulder or foot mount design where you can maximise the leverage.

@Nacho , Id suggest more a desk racer mount, with motors connecting higher up the side and make a seat mover.
to help the wipers work better,
    2014-03-21 14.27.31.jpg
and then traction loss underneath it

So many cost for two drivers, the VNH5019 operates from 5.5 to 24 V and can deliver a continuous 12 A (30 A peak) per motor, or a continuous 24 A (60 A peak) to a single motor connected to both channels. Two VNH5019 cost ~ US 100.- $.

Pit Thanks for you comment, in my country nobody sells VNH5019, If i want to import this cost is very expensive (tax and resticciones governmental)
    2 x VNH5019 cost U$s 100 to add to the cost
+ U$s 35 for used my credit card out side the country
    + U$s 50 for import electronic component
    + Shipping
    Entire Cost U$s 185.00

I forgot to say in my country nobody sells: Vellaman, JRK, Sabertooth.

@Nacho , if you are planning full frame, mount the motors near the feet, you WILL have better efficiency from the motors than whats pictured
    Suggestion
    403452763_IMG_20120414_114631_122_338lo.jpg
    And do not use springs

Bienvenido Nacho!

    Welcome Nacho!
@bsft is right, check also foot mount design from @Archie or even mine based in @Archie 's
Also, based on your design choice, I think you need to keep reading before building, or go safe and copy already proved concepts.
The rest are local prices, takes time but you can get all for almost 50% the prices you got.
