Steam has changed its refunds policy, for the better!

You will be able to request a refund for nearly any purchase on Steam—for any reason. Must be within 14 Days and Under 2 Hours played: http://www.pcgamer.com/new-steam-refund-policy-lets-you-get-your-thatmoney-back-for-any-reason/

Editor and game dev gonna need some serious work on their game prior to release to avoid mass refund and possible bankruptcy.

Hopefully it will indeed put pressure on junk games sold with pretty graphics and misleading blurbs.

Great news. Nothing worse then buying a game which turns out to be a piece of junk

Yup - I already used it get my money back on X-Plane 10 64-bit.

Caveat: It's only for purchases made on Steam. If you use Key sites like thebluedroid.com to save money, you won't be able to request a refund as these are seen as retail purchases. Steam has played a blinder doing this, as I will likely pay full whack for a game now, knowing I can get my money back if it's no good. (keeping me away from cheaper key sites)

    Good thing for player.
But for little independant game when you can finish it in less than 1 hours ... will be problematic no ?

@Baurus - They need to price it as such then if you can complete a game in 1 hour. Around $10 is my "I won't bother asking for a refund if the game is not what I expected, but I got some enjoyment from it" However if I paid $20+ for a game that could be completed in 1 hour I'd be well within my rights to request a refund.

I'm of the opinion that most developers work hard at their games, but some people do put out some absolute junk for $30+ I applaud Steam for doing this and it will help keep game players and developers honest.

As I pointed out before, it's also a WIN for Steam as I am more than likely to buy my games direct from Steam now, knowing I can get a refund. If you buy from a "Steam Key seller" You won't be able to get a refund.

They refund me for a game I only played 20 minutes. It just took 3-4 days for the whole process.

I got a refund for Batman: Arkham Knight. Played 18 minutes. Money was returned to my Paypal account the same day.
