I understand, it should be a personal habit. Simple carding wire, so that clear thinking.

The last weeks I got some bucks extra - and spent them to something I wished already for ages: a professional pedal set. After protosimtech has released their new pedal set I decided to go this route, but at the moment DSD was releasing their revised pedal set and the specs are way impressive while more expensive:
    • Wilwood Racing Pedals: Real world pedals for real world racing cars
    • 100kg Load Cell
    • Million Life Cycle Pots on throttle and clutch
    • Heavy duty throttle return spring added
    • "Smooth Action", ultra reliable clutch pedal
    • Wide or Standard Throttle Spacing
If I compare the cost while protosimtech is ~$520 at minimum due to delivering to EU, DSD pedals cost $875 including delivery.

At the moment I am very happy with me T500RS so there is no need of a DD wheel which would be a great choice as well. IMO the pedals are very important for better driving ergo I spent this amount despite of the high cost. Delivering is expected late August.

I can concur that the DSD pedals are awesome and an asset to every simrig. I have the 2015 early edition and there are some significant changes with the shown picture. The mounting plate has left the scene and the USB convertor is now mounted more on the back top side of the braking pedal bracket. This makes it lighter and smaller space is required to install it.... Since I am still in the gathering parts phase, it almost becomes unbearable not to throw something together to check it all out. :grin

This is an absolutely amazing setup!
How are you finding the projectors resolution? Are they the 1280 x 800 native resolution models?
Do you think that the resolution is sufficient? At the moment I can't quite justify spending the amount of money on that type of projector however I can get a set of projectors that have 800 x 480 but I am worried that they might not be high enough resolution for a sim.

Dear Alexey I use them at 1280x720@120Hz respectively 3840*720@120Hz. Do not wonder my Qumis are not certified by nVidia so I use an edid "hack" and some other tricks to get them working.
3840*720@120Hz is supported at a maximum by nVidia 3DVision. The picture quality is great, but not as sharp if you use displays but great immersion guaranteed. 800 x 480 is too low for sure, already 1024*768 shows visual deficits. Definitely I suggest you not to buy any projectors using such a low resolution.

Thanks for that, I certainly won't buy it given that information.

    Hi all
I am back from holidays for only 3 days, but after coming back I decided to change all my future plans about to build a 6DOF once upon a time. I had enough time the last two weeks thinking about it and you know thinking is tinkering :)

Today I made a scratch how I believe what to do the next months. I will separate surge and sway from the existing rig and optional a separate pitch. The concept of the pitch will be problematic due to the high forces of the seat motors, even if I use gas damper to hold the enormous weight of the existing rig (gas damper - no issue here to expect because pitch is slow and not used very often while racing).

My room allows to use the separate DOFs so I will use for each DOF two 24V motors (no one mm left for anything). IMO I will go over 10A on the 220V line but there will be a solution for sure.
So I am back in the running.

BTW my goal is to make something completely different and as you already know the way is the target. :thumbs
    phase 3.jpg

PS: I will go the Sabertooth route, there are no better 24V motor driver at the moment IMO

All the best in your new build:thumbs, but just from my own experience, I had a very similar surge table setup on my old sim and while it worked 'OK', I had to basically run it opposite of how it should work, as the lack of a working washout (simtools washout filter never worked properly with me) made the fast return feel unnatural. Also for info the VNH5019 pololu board seems to work well on my 24V 18.3 amp motor setup so far in testing - PWM an all.;) In regard to power, I installed a stand alone 15amp 240V circuit into my sim room just to reliably run the six motors for my new sim in the future. Not tying to knock anything your doing - just food for thought.

This would be a nogo, if washout wouldn't work the surge table makes no sense... perhaps @yobuddy can add here more details about?
I will note this tip, thanks for that. The Pololu Dual VNH5019 Motor Driver is pretty much cheaper than the Sabertooths

My new moving concept for surge and sway table. The next weeks I will collect all information and material and then I will hopefully present the new additional design. Before then this thread wont be updated any more.

Holy Crap!!! someone is eager to get the show started :).
How much were the parvalux engines ....there kinda costly if i can recall
