    My name is Mikko and I`m from Finland. I have 2DOF simulator. I did build my sim about half a year ago and i have found lots of useful information at this site so thank`s for all.

    Hi Everyone,

    I Live in South Africa, Johannesburg.

    I have silently been building a 2DOF race Rig over the past 6 months. Using 2 Wiper Motors a Ardiuno controller connected to Two Polonu Motor Driver.
    Actively racing in various leagues and wanted to experience what it was like to transition from a static rig to a dynamic Rig.
    I have had Real life GoKart and Circuit Racing experience.

    Hi everyone, my name is Singman and I'm a long time admirer first time poster. I've been stumbling across member's work for a few years now as I pine for a motion simulator. I've been a triple screen gamer for about 5 years now, since the first amd cards that could run 3 monitors off of a single card. I've been using a track ir rig for the last couple of years, recently moved down to a 21:9 monitor for improved framerates but am about to throw all that to the wind as I've just ordered an oculus dk2. I realize it will be superseded within a year by consumer models but I wanted to get on with the building of a motion rig to go with it sooner than later, besides how many times have we been promised stuff for the first quarter of the next year to have it come out q3 or4.

    My other inspiration is that I finally have space for a motion simulator and a supportive spouse! So now comes the real research, decision making, pricing and sourcing of parts. I do a bit of racing and enjoy flying, I'm not very good at either but I really really love roller coasters. I've been playing with the No Limits Roller Coaster sim for a while and would like to upgrade to no limits 2 but didn't see a plugin for it here, heck for all I know the plugin works with both. As for how many dof I need I'm open to suggestions, up until last night it was all a hypothetical pipe dream!

    Hello,

    We are a new on this forum, we are a team of four french friends . This year, we decided to build a simulator from scratch (mechanical part, electronics and computing). It was very useful to have creations of other members to have some ideas, mostly in the mechanical aspect, because we don't know many things about this.

    Currently, we have a 2DOF simulator (pitch and roll), which moves according ta game we made with Unity3D (it's a roller coaster in a mine). Now, we would like to make our simulator compatible with other games (racing and flying), and to reach this goal, we will try to use SimTools software.

    In the hope to have our own simulator produced by ourselves ;)

    Hello!

    I've been making robots for about 5 years now. I've made deltas, stewart platforms, 3dof robot arms, three 3d printers, a 6 legged walker called SPIDEE-1, the Makelangelo art robot, and a slew of failed or curious prototypes of no commercial value.

    One of my current projects is a footstool sized 6DOF stewart platform using linear actuators. I'm looking for advice from you, the experts, on the right range of motion/speeds to get the best performance in the small work envelope. I see from a quick search most of you are either building your own actuators or using rotary motion with big DC motors. No love for off the shelf DC actuators? I have a supplier that's willing to comp me parts if I can give the right specifications.

    Hi to all,

    First i want to introduce myself. My name is Nuno and i live in Portugal.
    I have some knowlegde of electronics and programing, and i want to start build my own simulation chair.
    I read some of the post in the forum, and already think and all the design. I just need some guides from the most
    experience guys.

    I just need to clear the information, that i read from the forum.

    So, If i understand well:
    -> Install SimTools, using 1 or 2 PCs.
    -> Arduino or JRK to control the Motors.
    -> Of course the chair, and all the electrical installation ready.

    What is missing for me, is:
    -> I need to write the code to Control the Motors?, or the SimTools only needs the Arduino or JRK, to access and controls the Motors?
    Because i have read almost all documentation, and in the QuickStart that is what i understood.

    Can anybody give me some start Kickoff?
