    Hi,Guys.
I plan to build a 2 Dof Flight simulator.
well the whole progress may take a long~long~time because i'm still a student and have to graduate and deal with evil homework.:(But...I will continue it till finished.

I try to build it in steel. One of my friends family fix cars and its rather easy for him or his father or his grandpa to make one.:)....BTW especially his grandpa..may be the most experienced engineer i met..not the type in school but the type who really fix cars.

Hope this Recording Thread can help you.
Sorry for my poor English(Also helped by google)

I was recently watching a vid of something like this design:

If you can pull it off it would be an amazing simulator, but I am guessing the main components for this are REALLY expensive.

The one on your vedio is..more complicated than what i designed ....may be the simple one will be cheaper?
but. maybe not cheap a lot.how much will make everyone feel its cheap that can DIY themsleves?
    1500 dollars? or...less?

    WOW! so cute!!!
    I'm agree with you!
Actually in my plan the first step is to build an 1:5 or 1:8 model with alunimiun parts and little motors.
Sorry about the Wrong tittle.. I thouth in ME...that there's roll and pitch free to move so named by 2DOF..

1500 seems fine, I would be willing to spend a little more to build something like your project. I am not really sure how much the components for your project would cost, it just seems expensive for me, maybe it's not. What you need to make sure is to have a VERY solid frame, think that your entire rotating frame, plus seat, controllers and the player body will be attached on a single pivot, that has to be really strong, I don't think you can't just attach it to the motor axle. I think the motors will be the most expensive parts, I am not sure what kind of motors you will need, I guess the more power the better, hope some more experience user can tell you what you need.

Good luck, all the best in your build:thumbs, but even building a model does not adequately exercise the main issues with this build, which are large loads and inertia. Just remember that you could easily maim or kill someone on this if you are not careful. The only really successful ones I have seen built are by people from similar industries Eg. Carnival ride manufactures.

@dontcarefilmer , I recall you were developing one? And maybe you have an idea of cost?

I agree they make good carnival rides but as a personal motion sim that I spend hours in a day in , no thanks.

I am developing (*chirping crickets*) a machine which will do similar to your idea. A basic cost I estimated was around $12,000. It will weigh a lot, and the components required will need to be powerful. My one was going to be more than just for at home but, and from what I have read on these forums you can get very impressive motion from a simple setup.

it takes one years for the porgram cause such as exams..or life troubles...but..the program is nearly done in this summer! I finally find a really kind "Shifu" (in english mater worker?)in the factory who helps me do the metal works.
share some photos for my own 360 degree cockpit!
this is the kind Shifu! He is also verrrrry interested in flying! that's the reason why he help me make the cockpit!
this is the Arduino part of the cockpit.
well it seems like i'm a student who just complete his homework and show to teachers
    =-=

I use arduino 2560 give signal to motor to chase the motion data, for example, if the roll angle change to 45 degree, the 2560 will receive the data R45PXX and compared to the angle of cockpit now, the motors will turns.
Tested in FSX successfully,but....it still not completed, just like Seattime said..safety is very important..the safety belt once broken and i almost ...killed? may be not so dangerous but really almost injured.
so i decided to put on doors so that in the case safety belt broke,my legs or arms will not fall out!!That's really a dangerous time!

Noorbeast, lots of thanks at beginning! especially the FSX motion data problem solving.please check my homework and..maybe a grade over A? teacher, please:grin:grin:grin:grin! and i have another question want to ask for your help.
The War thunder have been agent by Tencent, the largest game.. maybe little small than steam=w=. and i was attracted in...deeply,verrry deeply.
I found an War thunder plugin in Forums but the roll data and pitch data are not realtive to the earth.
    https://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/war-thunder-plugin.133/updates
what books or things should i learn,to find how to catch these data=-=
i read the tutorial in making plugin in simtools V1.o and V2.o..but V1.o one...may be i need more sample to understand, can you recommend me some ?
