Supramans 2DOF Rig Build

Hey guys decided to make this thread as both a documentation of build for myself and sou you guys can watch it progress. Id first like to give a big thanks to @noorbeast for all his help over PM's he has really made things a breeze for me to figure out and understand, so thanks for that!

Now for my build I had originally decided to go for wiper motors but after looking into them and what Id personally like out of my rig I decided against it. Instead I will be using a motor that Noorbeast showed me, its a 12v worm drive motor that he used in his DX Racer build.

Moving on from the motors I then needed to figure out what would power them, I cant remember who showed me the Server power supplies but know I am grateful and managed to find a good buy for a lot of 2 hp DL380s for under 40$ shipped!

From there I have decided to go the route of JRK for the controllers and have found a nice set of hall sensors from a local Canadian site.

As for the seat, I have a brand new Sparco Steel that I bought years ago for 780$ befor shipping directly from Sparco and never once installed it in any vehicle, and chances are never will soooo may as well strap it down

first I will show a crappy picture I did in paint showing kinda how id like it to look, Id love to do it in some sort of 3d program unfortunately I do not have any skill at stuff like that but i'm awesome at building stuff haha.

id like to make this rig easily able to be converted to a 3DOF cause eventually id like to add in traction loss cause I love drifting and do it myself in my spare time.



if anyone can help make this more of a 3d render please do haha!

well another update for the night, scored a second computer case to help run the rig total cost into my rig so far not counting the seat at all because that was bought for other intentions, is now only 43$!

Try to avoid server PSUs, they are generally cheap because they sold 2nd hand because they are at the end of their service life.
LED power supplies are new, cost more, and more reliable.
Shoulder mount seat mover is fine

even if that is the case @bsft at 37$ shipped for 2 I am not going to be too upset if one does die on me, I do not need super fancy gear I just want it to work and be able to say I succeeded in doing so. after version 1 is complete there will always be room for it to grow and improve and trust me it will definitely get upgrades. the wheel set I have right now is only a logitec G25, now thats not a bad wheel at all but its still not ideal but it was a great entry level.

I run a G27 as I cannot afford, nor justify the cost of the CSR or stuff like that.
I have a spring in the brake pedal to make it extra stiff, a custom sequential shifter build from a cheap dpad and bit and pieces.
Ive been racing with that gear for years.
@eaorobbie can verify that the G25 is still an excellent wheel.

Oh im not saying that its a bad wheel, I quite enjoy this wheel and like that there are so many mods available for it. It does however lack an e-brake, which Is why eventually going to spend the money and do a full Fanatec setup minus the shifter cause I think theirs arent that nice for the money.

G25 is a good begineers or part time wheel but if ya really want to get serious then yes upgrade for sure, Im still using a G25 , 10 years old. lol.

Built to adapt the front of a Next Level - GTPro and reuses the original seat back in its original position. A Static Sim Conversion.

@eaorobbie - I wasn't gonna jump on the sim tonight, but after seeing that, think I might have to go and have a thrash.

Its a basic concept for a std seat mover built to replace the NextLevels joke of a motion base, with high speed motion from DC WormGears.
Happy to discuss possible plans, but wont release them hear in fear of all the commercial spies we have at present.
