yobuddy’s - Hit and Run simulator - (SimforceGT)

    What’s up everyone?
I just wanted to open a post on my new SimforceGT simulator.

There are a few custom features that I will try to explain over time.
For now – Ill post some pictures to give you an idea of where I am going with it.

The best upgrade I did to this sim version is the MDF base sprayed with bed liner!
Almost zero vibrations to the floor!
The built in dampeners in the motor mounts help too!
My wife sleeps 12 feet away from the sim, and I can play all night long! lol :yippiee:
Man I need some sleep! lol

    Anyway the good stuff

The spray on truck liner is a good idea. I still can't imagine that it won't hop around and flex the board, but I'm looking forward to the vid and cooresponding motion profile.

If this mechanism stops the flexing and jumping, then it may be a good alternative to steel.

    Good job, Dustin!

Regarding the plastic pieces. I have some of this material at home as well, and this stuff is quite rigid. One can drill screws into it even. I wonder that it dampens at all btw.

    regards

    What’s up Christian!
So nice to see your still around!!
Thanks for all your help with my sim!

Man, I have missed kicken it on this sight, so nice to be back!
The base is made of mdf (stiff wood) – the same stuff they make speaker boxes out of.
Then it’s covered with bed liner.
The HDPE plastic is just for the steering wheel and shifter mount.

    Dustin - aka yobuddy

btw - I love this thing!

    - It just works so well with the sim!

and check this out - I believe these sell for $2700

$175 is cheap for ANYTHING that says the word Galil on it!

I sirnoname if willing, I'd be willing to chip in on one and send it to him.
Getting these controllers supported would be sweet.
I mean look at what the scn5's have done for the community!

I'm not sure that this is a good long term solution though. How much will they cost after this eBay auction sells out or will this part number be available at all? I'm guessing the only reason it's so cheap is because it is discontinued.

If it's a part that's going to be around for a while, I'd be willing to kick in as well.

I’m assuming that all galil controllers will be controlled the same way?
I agree that galil controllers may cost more after this eBay action, but any off the shelf controller seems to help the community. Look how awesome the scn5’s worked out.

BTW- bvillersjr I recently looked at you website and I am very impressed!
Congrats on all you have accomplished!

I believe you’re on the right path to make anyone’s motion sim dreams come true!
Anyway – I’m impressed with all you have done, if I can help in any way let me know!

I agree, those controllers would be very much worth a try if the price was right. Going for $2700reg, only for the controller is a bit too steep though. $175 is really REALLY a steal.

They are meant for CNC machines with very very precise positioning and feedback, which wouldn't be needed for a simulator.

ps. Good job on your seat! It would be great to see it in action.

    Thanks!

It's been alot of hard work, but alot of fun too. I think the SimXperience / X-Sim combination is making sims affordable for those without metal working, wood working and electronics skills. I hope its a trend that can be continued for many years to come. A big thanks goes to SirNoName and the entire comunity (yourself included) for making X-Sim possible.

Oh how I wish I got onto the motion sim bandwagon a long time ago. Now I am so overwhelmed with choices. Truck wipers - to - snc5/6, arduinos and moot monsters. I am so gonna need guidance.

@bsft I need an education. Why do your prefer JRKs over Ard/MM ? I am very interested in knowing the advantages of each or the JRKs in your case.

I am actually quite blank apart from the little I have encountered on this forum.

    JRK 12 bit
    Ard 8 bit
JRK 12v only 30 amps continuous with 45 amp spikes no problem
    Ard, can control larger MM
JRK , no code to write or mod
Ard...code to be implemented and changed if need be
JRK costs more but quicker to set up for 12v
Ard costs less, but add cost of decent MM
I recall you plan to use an ard but cannot decipher code. Good luck.
hence I use JRKS, I am code stupid
