Hey Guys! Looks like there is a fantastic community of people here that have tons of talent. Real quick about me, my name is Matt and I live in St. Louis. This Christmas my wife got me a Rift DK2 as a gift and I've been hooked since day one. I also have been playing Elite Dangerous since the beta and it is honestly one of the best things I've ever experienced! So in my hunt to increase the immersion I've stumbled across this forum and I think its awesome what you guys are doing. I look forward to asking questions and getting to know people here.

    Welcome @matt_r

You have come to the right place for motion simulation software, information and support from a very active community.

Have a look at existing member builds for ideas and inspiration, it could well help you refine what you may like to do for your own project: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

You will find the FAQ section covers some more specific topic areas, like types of simulators, designs and motors: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

If you are having a hard time understanding terms or acronyms then have a look at the Glossary of Acronyms and Names: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

When you are ready please start your own project thread.

On your thread do ask questions, there is a lot to take in but the community is good at giving tips during planning, reviewing purchase lists, giving feedback and encouragement during the build and providing advice on actually sorting out motion profiles.

And don't forget to take a moment and add yourself to the Member Map: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/memberMap/

    Good luck with your project.

Hey guys I have been mucking about with Race titles for years and came across this site. I live in Brisbane in Queensland, Australia and am keen to find out what I can add to my Obutto Ozone cockpit to give it motion.

I saw a product from Pagnian Imports, Next Level Motion for $2.5K but I am thinking that is way overpriced for what it is so am going to investigate some more. Any other Brizzy racers here !? cheers

    Hi!

Been lurking here for a few days reading what I can. I've built a few arcade machines before but never a motion simulator... hoping to get the information I need from here to start making one in a few months time, when I've gathered the required knowledge and bits!

    Hello all.

I have registered some time ago, but just now i have been looking more into here

My name is Pedro and iam from a little island in Portugal called Madeira.
I have dedicated some really good years into simracing since 2009, but this last ones where dedicated to do Rally, this as stoped for now since money is a bit shorter hehe.

I have got back into simracing and have been involved in a couple of diy stuff for my rig lately.
Im using a custom F1 MDF Steering wheel with a quick release and will do the same for the original G27 wheel i have.

In pair with this (since the wheel alone isnt enough) i have been developing, since the end of last year, my own display with an arduino nano.
Its not 100% finished yet in terms of hardware and casing but will be in the near future.
I will be around to discuss my project as it goes forward and once i can will start using GameDash together with the arduino display.

In terms of coding the display is a bit advanced already, but i have much more coding in front of me as i plan to do alot of cool things with it (you will see what iam talking about when i post about it hehe).

Iam a programmer in real life (IBM Mainframes) so this last part (even being a new language for myself) its going really good, so anything you guys need, feel free to ask. I will help in what i can.

See you around in any thread ;)

    Welcome @Pedro Melim.

I look forward to seeing some pictures and further information regarding your DIY wheel and dash. Just start your own build thread and add the details there.
