No @Matt Miller there is not a plugin for Rigs of Rods, but you can add it to the request list here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/what-simulations-games-need-motion.5839/

    Hello,

Richard from Kansas here. I've built a couple of cockpits out of PVC with the idea of easily being able to add on or adjust for gaming needs other than driving but I'm ready now to move into a more elegant aluminum chassis and might as well take the next step up to motion. I hope to find help I need here and eventually help others as well.

Welcome @NauticaLNaughT, you have come to the right place!

Have a browse through existing member projects for inspiration: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

Many use profile aluminum for frames and if you go that route you may find May-CAD useful for design: http://may-cad.org/

Others including myself have used plain aluminum tubing and angle to create frames:

    http://www.xsimulator.net/community...ray-into-the-world-of-motion-simulation.6255/

Whatever way you go, or even to help you figure that out, start a new build thread of your own and ask lots of questions. You will find the members here give freely of both their time and expertise.

    Good luck with your project.

Hello All. I live in New Brunswick on the East Coast of Canada. As this forum is for first timers, which I am as well, I just want to say THANK YOU to all that will spill their secrets to us newbe's apon request. I'm looking to built a Sim primarily for a friend of mine. My primarily job is a Marine Engineer, but do hold a Automotive License as well. Hobbyist in Electronics, Carpentry, Car/PC computers and Fabrication. I have some of the fellows I work with calling me "MacGyver". For the younger people, MacGyver was a show that depicted a guy that could do anything to get himself out of a predicament with what ever he had on hand. You'd have to watch the show to see what I mean. My goal is to build a 2 or 3 DOF sim.

    Enjoy!

Hi @Roy . Welcome! Sounds like you will be right at home building your sim. Once you know what you want to build, start a thread and share your progress and have others help you out.
