MRAP Seat Mover - first motion

    No, the rope is actually connected to the main drive pulley so it can't slip. The downside of this is that it limits the number of turns that the pulley can turn to the number of times the rope is wrapped around the pulley. I have the rope wrapped twice around a 40mm pulley so I can get 40 * pi * 2 = 251mm max travel although I currently only drive it about 120mm travel max - any more gets too wild in my setup.

    On the other side of the motor I connect the feedback POT to the Motor using two other pulleys and some string as a belt. This is not connected to the pulley but I have not had to make any adjustments during the time it has been running. The string seems to grip on the MDF pulley really well - and of course the POT doesn't create much load so it doesn't seem to slip. If you used plastic or metal pulleys this may be a problem?
