GRID is really good I have no complaints, just have to use the monitor for some menus but other than that it runs great

Not even the rift can get me to play Grid over Corsa no matter how special it is. Put down the rift and enjoy a far superior Sim (not that Grid is a sim):)

Grid Autosport, I take it you are referring to, yes is a console based game and the developers did well with this game, but yes, its not true sim. Even the endurance racing is nothing even like race 07 or other sims.
That being said, for online with a bunch of fellas, its a great game, even though the races are maybe 5-7 mins each. Get in and go.
I play Autosport regular for the gasbagging and chat online.
Assetto Corsa is great and I really should get back into it. The amount of time, or lack of it, really restricts me from getting into it.

AC DK2 is a huge disappointment!

It is a pain to config for the rift, including editing a config file to get the menu on the main monitor but with the Rift as primary, there is no true 3D as the same image is rendered to both eyes, IPD is way off making everything seem way too big :(

I did note in an earlier post that the AC dev team only got their DK2 in September, long after many consumers. They really should of held off releasing this poor and rushed implementation as DK2 support, rather than build expectations and disappoint pretty much everyone with a DK2. Poor promo just prior to a full release is never a good look.

I might be the only one who didn't know this but just for reference. Once each race loads hit ctrl+space to recenter to the correct view for rift. So much better now :)

I have the AC menu on a second screen, which works well but is a work around, one of the many areas AC is still VR incomplete.

I am not a hard core racing nut but rather a VR experimenter, so despite the AC VR limitations it remains my go to racing sim as I can mess with graphics, content and mods with cutting edge physics and graphics.

I don't even have to think where everything is with the Rift, I built my rig and know where I have mapped controls and have used it so much that it is just like being in your own car. You don't need to think about or look for your indicators, light switch or stereo controls, you know exactly where they are and use them without thinking about it.

There is also the possibility to both have pass through vision, which Leap Motion have experimented with via infrared, and tracking arbitrary objects, like your coffee cup, which will be possible with Steam's new Lighthouse VR tracking system.
