I believe Indy 500 winner Tom Sneva did this in the late 80's with a FZ750 powered golf cart.
I don't see how anyone could go from racing to golf thou lol

I find golf rather relaxing and gets interesting if you have a couple of mates and put a beer bet per hole, very hard to make it to the nineth, ya normally quiet plastered (as in person that wins the hole has to skull the rest of his beer). lol, my way of playing golf.

How else would you expect a racecar driver to get around the track complex when he’s not racing? And do you think he would be satisfied with a regular golf cart? :grin Lol. I have an uncle that once worked for a custom coachbuilder (Newell). They build million dollar plus coaches. Al Uncer, Sr. (4 time Indy 500 winner) bought one and my uncle worked with him in designing a custom bay for his cart so he could take it with him in his coach to get around the racing complexes. Then he could tow something else behind if wanted.

Story: Al invited my uncle and his son to the Indy 500 in 1987 and to come visit him in the infield at his coach. He had lost out to three other drivers on the Penske team but one of them crashed during the first practice round and was unfit to drive so he was called to fill in. But the new Penske cars had been unreliable in practice and qualifying so Al elected to drive the backup car from the previous year that had the same chassis and engine that he had already won at Indy with previously. He started in 20th position but slowly worked his way up to the lead in the 183th lap when the previous leaders car stalled on his last pit stop. Al ended up winning the race with a 4.5 second margin. It was his last career victory and my Uncle and cousin were able to share it with him! I wish I could have been there too!

    Just a stupid fun fact:
There are 18 holes in a game of golf because there are 18 shots to terminate a fifth of Scotch. lol
