I often get the questions where to buy SCN5 actuators in Europe including duty and VAT.
When you are living outside the european union, the answer is very easy: You can buy Dyadic SCN5 and SCN6 actuators at Miraiintertech

    scn5.jpg

Unfortunately you have to pickup your actuators personally at the custom and have to pay 19% custom import tax (19% for germany) and additional shipping costs of round about 60 - 70$
I also heard that people had to pay customs duty additionally to import tax. (The SCN5 actuators are high-tech robotic cylinders, so as a fact there are no additional costs except import sales tax)

So i had the idea in mind to import directly a larger amount of actuators for the XSimulator community when there should be enough requests for it.

For our community it would be possible to offer the following prices including any duties:

    SCN5-10-100 for 380,- €
    SCN5-10-150 for 470,- €
    SCN6-20-100 for 490,- €
    SCN6-20-150 for 550,- €

    Shipping costs within European Union:
    Estimated: 15,- €

All prices are non binding at the moment and are depending on current exchange rates, but they should give a good indication about what is possible.

I have to fiddle around with things like getting a CE for selling the actuators in the european market and warranty issue, but that is nothing impossible.

Let me know what you think. I count on you:)

    About the poll:

    Select "Yes, interesting"
when you are plan to buy any SCN actuators and you are located within the EU and would like to buy directly at XSimulator.net. Your decision to purchase should be within the next 6 month.

    Select "Not interested"
when you do not plan to buy the SCN actuators at all OR
when you plan to use SCN actuators but you are not located in the EU.

    Thanks, mate

Hi might be also interesting to get some spare Parts .
I ordered two spare shafts some month ago and Tax and shipping were as high as the parts.
could be interesting for some members too.
For spares you have to contact Nathan , thes are not listed in the shop!

Living in Switzerland the additional cost for freight and duties will be prohibitively high – unless I pick them up in Waldshut and smuggle them into CH :(

Ouch those types of prices kept me away from even looking at them, I have had a couple of clients bring them around and asked me to hook them up for them, while doing that they ride on my machine and cant believe their eyes. For the cost of two actuators they can build a whole sim. But inturn the scn's are a nice looking unit, wish they were as quiet as a worm gear motor thou but turn the game volume up and forget about the chirp behind you.

I think this poll should be "If you are going to use SCN5/6 actuators, would you like to be able to buy them from XSimulator"
Because as some have stated, they prefer to do it a different way and would not buy the SCN actuators at all.

No matter how you look at it, SCN actuators make building a SIM much easier as the drive unit comes complete.
No messing with motor arms and potentiometers etc...

I renamed the thread to make it more clear that it is only a poll. Thanks for the suggestion.

It´s obvious that this actuators are sold and used worldwide by several users, so i try to find out if if makes sense to offer them here to make our range of motion simulator hardware and software complete. As offering them means a lot of additional work i only try to find out if there are enough potential customers who are interested in them.
The calculated prices are definitely competitive to the Mirai ones.

Agreed with Yobuddy, "If I was going to buy them, yes I would like to buy them from xsimulator.

If I was going to buy (but I will most probably not) I would most probably not buy them from here due to duty and freight cost.

I am not interested in using these in the first place. But if I were I would order direct as I live in the USA. Its a Canadian company but UPS is just slightly more than it cost domestically to ship (maybe around $30-$40 for these). And as of now we have no VAT or other taxes that must be imposed either. But I don't expect the "as of now" to last much longer considering who is running our federal govt. at the moment and I also see that UPS rates go up again at the end of the year!
