In the next days we ll start a new sim software project and will open the beta stage for a selected list of members. Everyone who is willing to spent some time for testing and support us is invited but the free places are rare and limited.

So ask me or yobuddy for a invitation and details.

A few words about the new project “SimTools”... :hi:

    SimTools consists of 3 tools.
1 ) Game Engine – the Simulator Engine itself.
2 ) Game Engine GUI – the Setup and Testing application.
3 ) Game Manager – the Profile and Game management application.

    SimTools “Aims” to be:
1 ) Simple and Strait forward – easy for newbie’s yet configurable for advanced users.
    2 ) Universal Serial Output – USO - (up to 6 interfaces)
3 ) Axis Mixing - for different types of simulator builds - (up to 6 axes / 3 dof per axis)
4 ) Single and Dual PC setups.
    5 ) Simple Patch/Up-Patch games.
6 ) Built in Default Profiles - for Instant output - but configurable to the user’s content.
7 ) Live Profile Tuning – change profile settings while in the game.
___a. No need to stop the game to make profile changes!
8 ) Simple Try App lets you launch games as you normally would on your PC.

I will list more features as I think of them – lol

Beta Testers will not only help to report bugs but also help “tune the games for output”.
The “Game Engine Admin Window” application (app #4) will be kept to beta testers for now.

If you are interested in helping move this project forward, simply post in this thread with “beta tester” and when we are ready to go, we will contact you.
    Thanks!

    Hi Yobuddy, Rene,
I am a long time friend of David aka BSFT ,who has recommended that I apply to become a Beta tester for your new Simtools software which he says is way better than x-sim 2089b Beta which I am using at the moment and is the future of motion simulation.
I am 85 (David said he has mentioned me to you in the past) and have plenty of time on my hands and am quite fanatical about racing sims, so may be able to contribute something to your developement of this program.

Yes its a lot more stable and the use is way simpler to change games and just play.
Even just to setup Dave should have ya up and running in no time.

    Hi Raceray,

Thanks to BSFT (via PM) I too have started a motion platform project. Right now I am building a prototype miniature platform based on the work of Earobbie and Aarondc using an Arduino, R/C servos and hopefully Simtools. Once I am comfortable with the software/Ardiuno side I will have a buddy weld my framework up for me. I am in the process of creating a plan in Solidworks but how I design it depends on the motion that I can get out of my prototype.

Other than the h-bridge drivers, which need to be ordered, I believe I have all the hardware for the full scale platform.

I pledge to give feedback on a regular basis, I would really like to see your project prosper.

Here is the thread that I have started for my build:

I usually don't post here much anymore since the forums have moved toward Arduino and DC motors, neither of which are of interest to me.

That said, I thought I would take a minute to say congratulations.

This forum gave me the inspiration to start SimXperience and I've long felt guilty that I haven't had the time to make some kind if a DIY software to help out here. I'm pleased to see that progress is being made on a replacement for X-Sim!

Best of luck to you all.

Wow been a long since we have heard from you my friend, we must be doing something right with the new software, Thanks to Yobuddy for the main code and Value1 and Prilad for custom plugin, and myself for beta testing and refining ideas we actually now have a replacement for xsim that is free of the restrictions placed on it via Sirknucklehead. Yobuddy is very open minded about his code and listens to peoples wants and issues so this is growing in a radpid but love way. His openness with the plugin creation is opening new plugins and interfaces all the time.
The quality of motion from plugin to game to motion table is leagues ahead of xsim already, his current redoing the gui to make it even better to use, and its not only dc motor compatible mate, we have the provisions to support scn5's and networked drivers too, not as a replacement for your software but as an alternative for guys to give it a go, we don't want to single out any one driver, idea is to be open and free for all to use.
A couple of game plugins would be a nice contribution mate, your pretty good at building them, plus I have followed Sim Commander from day one, and its a nicely layed out and developed piece of work as you may have noticed sirnuckleheads push to make xsim look more like yours with a front end that almost looks like a copy. Something we don't want to do, we should all be working together to improve all for the sim community of the future.

Bloody nice to here from a guru of motion building, hope life been treating you well.
