Hi, i have a frex simconmotion which i am planning to change to xsim soon. Question is i want to use a buttkicker but i am not sure if is ok to use with a motion simulator due to the shaking? My simulator is sitting on 16 mm mdf with 8mm of rubber on top. I have the option of mounting the buttkicker to the mdf or attaching it to the aluminum bracket under the seat? Does anyone use a buttkicker with there motion simulators? if so how have you mounted them and do they effect the motion simulator in any way wihile its moving? You can see via the pic uder the seat Thanks. Ray

no problem using with x-sim and motion. I have one under my seat and another one on my pedal frame. it is handeled with x-sim via a bass plugin. it vibrate with the strenghth of the rpm from the sim. it works pretty good . easy to incorporate in a specific game profile.

when you get to that point don t hesitate to ask more questions

    bye

Thanks abs! Where do you have it attached? To the aluminium tubing under the seat or seperate from the motion simulator?

if your frame is made from cylindrical tubing attach it underneath the seat anywhere. if the frame is made of square tubing , use a cylidrical metallic pipe and find a way to screw it solid somewhere under the chair. a cylindrical tube would increase the contact with the clamp and make a solid connection. that is it.

x-sim is very handy to send any kind of data to peripherials such as bass shaker (rpm or speed data from the sim), and rev counter, speedometer and of course motion motor (via a controller), LCD etc ...
x-sim can also be used wuthout motion (just other peripherials).

    good luck for the project

ok , I just checked your setup. U use a frame from frex. I have a similar setup. I got from the hardware store a small plumbing pipe with a round base that can be screwed to the tube. the round base can be screwed via square nuts to the alu frame .

check this u tube, u ll understand better:

Hello your simulator looks very nice. I like the Ferrari badges. My chair has a metal bar/pole welded under a frame the the chair sits on. This is where I attached the butt kicker.

Remember they call it butt kicker because it gives you massive vibration on the backside.

So that is where you want it to go, underneath there. There is no point attaching it elsewhere and expecting the vibration to find its way all the way to your backside. You will not feel it that much. The aim is to get most vibration through the seat (even better towards the back end of the seat).
