    Hi guys

I was thinking: is it possible to use the Pololu Jrk 21v3 USB Motor Controller with Feedback and drive a much higher powered motor driver like the Pololu High-Power Motor Driver 24v23 CS or Thanos' new H-bridge?

That would really make a big difference for those who are limited by the 12Amps continuous output of the Pololu Jrk 12v12.

    What do you guys think?

ALso on second thought can two motor drivers be connected in parallel to source more current?

Why not run the 12v12. I run mine at 22.5 amps peak and have heatsinks on them and they run fine. Pololu has advised me that this is safe to do as they have a 30 amp peak. If you are really running 30 amps spikes continuous then you are really thrashing the motors.

I have not built my simulator as yet since right now I am very bust building our new house, but as soon as the house is finished, rest assured that I will be jumping in head first :)

I was thinking about using 3 winches (with planetary gears) and each motor is rated at 850W 12V. The amount of current at full load should be something like 70+ amps .... My problem is that I'm a big guy (140kg) and believe that wiper motors would have a hard time pushing me around :)

Winch motors will do , look up posts by eaorobbie and aldoz. They use winch motors and jrk 12v12s. This may help you start.
    Cheers, David.

Hi what is you payload weight you may need to use a lever system to reduce the power but you will compromise some of the speed I have a design for a cheep system useing caravan levelers and any dc motor used here . By doing this you will bring the system back to 12 volts and then you can use common product like the 12V 12

SInce I'm still in the planning stage, I would estimate a payload of about 400kg (me included)
btw this is still very subject to change

I know my payload is quite hefty but since there are 12v motors like the ones I mentioned available (12v 850w complete with reduction gearbox rated 900kg max) I thought I'd use those in order not to compromise speed- You know, if a racing car is accelerating hard, I want to feel feel my eyeballs get pressed in their sockets :)

I will do a drawing this week and post it .

900kg Now that's a simulator you will need something like one of the simulators they use at a country fair I think they have a payload around 1000kg.

To move 900kg at around 100mm a second is going to take allot. What do you hope your moment distance be.

    Kenneth: I don't intend to move 900kg - just maybe 400kg
But the winches are rated they can pull 900kg each. I want my simulator to move me around effortlessly. I saw a post on ac motors used as servos - that would also be nice :)
