After a month of testing and tuning on my inverted pendulum buggy I have found that by adding suppression caps to the POTs will drastically reduce the noise problem. This update applicable to all pots in my schematic. But only VR1 and VR2 shown.

update with fully adjustable PID display on LCD.

x-sim-->uart_read--->pid protocol-->pwm_out_---> lcd display or graphical TFT LCD with real time graph...time to migrate to more powerful core i think :?

    Re: PICMICRO 16F887 (update 16F1937 32Mhz now)

    Dear Kubing:

for months i have looking at x-sim traing to find if someone did what you just achieved in your blog, using components ready to use, in order to avoid constructing the thanos technology.

Since i don't know anything about electronics, but i can follow instructions :D and i really whant to construct a simulator.

i have then, two questions for you, hopping you can answer:

    1. is your work finish, so i can just follow your instructions in your blog??? (www.simf1.com)
    2. i saw you constructed a flex kind of simmulator, i would like to construct a joyrider style (like the one thanos made), can i use your job and just construct a different simmulator or the joyrider needs a whole different set of programing and electronics stuff?

    3. (i a new one) talking about the electronics, how much did you invested creating your pice of art?

    Re: PICMICRO 16F887 (update 16F1937 32Mhz now)

Thank you for your interest and follow my blog.

    1) yes i have finish my work with full PID control.
    2) I built this cockpit in frex style only since it was design for F1 and not suitable for Flight sim. You can modify your x-sim profile for joyride if you want. I never tried.
    3) this is prototype and I need so many difference equipment to built, test, burn and of course its very expensive. Once its ready and done its very cheap to re'built'. You can built this below than USD350.

Hi ,Kubing, I have long followed your project is great !! I have built my simulator with the AMC by Thanos and works very well, but I would like to build your board based on Pic, but I do not have a development kit, could be programmed with a homemade pic programmer? if so could you provide me the hex file ?

Greetings and I follow the blog

Thanks, I use ICD3 for programming. pic16f1937 may not work with DIY programmer. you can try but I'm not sure. pickit3 is a minimal investment if you love PICs project. development board are not necessary but if you plan to buy I recommend olimex with ftdi chip on board. at the moment I'm on vacation. will upload hex later as you wish. :D

I'm away from my simulator right now...built this since last year..it works great on terminal application.I use 18f2550 cdc..but x-sim cannot detect this virtual comport...not sure why. forgot about this since i'm buzy with kalman and PID implementation. thank you for remind me back to my historic project. :D

Hi all, Thank you guys for your moral support. After almost one year starting this topic, finally its come to a reality. FULL PID with USB virtual comm. all harness, cost and complexity of usart -TTL circuit are now simplified into the MICROCHIP brain. After mass modification of original code for 16f1937 about 4 days..seems like i am going to sleep for a week after posting this. Any comment are welcome.
