You are correct SMKOUT, almost there. Also pay attention to the metal brush casing. It is touching the brushes and it needs to be isolated from the motor housing too. The best way is to measure resistances between points you are trying to isolate.

    My Motion Simulator:
2DOF, DC motor, JRK, SimforceGT, 6DOF
Looks right to me. Cut and resolder wire and run out of case
Then once back together test by placing red on positive and new earth
On negative, and motor should spin one direction, then reverse wires and
Motor should spin the other way. With motor spinning use a
Multimeter to test between positive and motor body and the negative
And motor body all results need to be void (0)
Then the motors earth is separated properly and now ready to hook to jrk

Just want to make sure Im going about this right, I know ground isolation is the goal so I don't fry motors or JRK's however, I am FAR from an electrician ;)

It doesn't matter where you solder, it is the same connection. Soldering to copper will make it easier. :)

So soldering at 1 is the same as soldering at 2?? One goes to the post next to the positive wire and the other is attached at the brush case, but Im not sure how they do that same thing..? Thanks again! And as long as I cut at 1 2 and 3 Im good??, I messed up one wiper motor doing this incorrectly already, but I have a few more on reserve as I suspected something like this would happen. Which location would be the best to cut and solder 1, 2, or 3? In N00b terms. :p I think I cut too many places on the last motor and ended up not getting anything to power up again, just lots of sparks! ;) Thank you for your patience, I think I am getting ALOT closer :)

cut number 2, solder number 2 wire(which connected to brush) with new wire. done.

ps: I never open my wiper motor in my simulator project...multimeter is a great stuff for continuity job.
