From what I can tell it modifies and RS485 conveter, that is for actuators only. Is that right, or am I reading it wrong?
Also, what circuit board does it hook up to and does it control motors?
By the way, I can buy an USB to RS485 cable locally for about $15. If there is a dc motor controller board that it can connect to , this would be handy to know.
    Cheers.

This is not RS485. It outputs TTL UART communications.

For this much money don't expect anything. It is a very cheap chinese converter with chip-on-board, noone knows what sort of silicon they put under that black epoxy.

Personally, I cannot afford to buy cheap stuff like this. The $10 I save on money will be thrown out the window when I waste my time, trying to troubleshoot the problems it can cause in the circuit...

I advise everyone to avoid this and save the headache. Spend the extra $10 and don't worry about it in the future.
