    Hi,
With this AMC 1.5 board i don't have to make the Custom BS2 Interface, right?

    Thanks,
    RafBR.

    @Andsolo21
I think that Thanos is in developing process of much better boards and he wouldn't have time to give you an answer.
I've rewritten the guide and collected all the data for Thanos's boards (all info at one place :)), and I hope sirnoname will evaluate it soon (maybe even Thanos himself would like to see it before publishing), and it will be posted for download at http://www.x-simulator.de/forum/post30012.html#p30012.

    Hello Everyone,

After spending night after night reading this fora, I have decided to begin building my own Sim 8) .
I know that Thanos is working on a new board layout, but what version is the latest and most current version of the board layout?

I have been searching to answer this question myself, but I give up now

I'm going to build a 2DOF wiper motor Sim as a beginning, but I will probably build a SCN5 simulator aswell in the future :D I'm looking forward to race against friends

    Regards

    Peter

I ordered the first batch of AMC644USB boards 12 days ago, still waiting for the production to be completed and have them in hand. Not too many as I want to be sure about the quality of the boards first.

    Could some body help
What is Rs232 cable wiring ?

I mean PC to AVR Contorl board rs232 port

since I have been connect programing port and burn in succeed

But I can't to connect with Rs232 port on avr board.

I am not sure what kind of R232 cable wiring

Yhank you for your replay IMG_5612.jpeg IMG_5612.jpeg

Yes ! I post with board I made detail picture , maybe could find some issue making mistake can't work with rs232 transfer & recieve for hyper terminal

By picture , when I turn Pot , The output will working fine , But when I push DIP-2 On and connect cable then reset , hyperTerminal can't recieve and show message , and I open X-sim program , AMC board can't recieve data from PC ,

    I even thing about , I bought a fail IC ? (8535 or max232) , I have been replace 2xBC547 , need replace 2of IC ??
    Thank for your replay

Both RS232 (serial) ports on AMC are using same type of cable - STRAIGHT serial cable.
You just transfer the cable used for programming to other serial port (this is if you're using same PC for PonyProg and X-Sim profiler).
Write more details about the problem, what have you done and what are you trying to do next.

    Hello,
I am facing a big problem to find a few capacitors.
I am posting a picture of what i got so you can tell me if it can be used instead.
The 104 and 102 are hard to find with 100v specification.
And both the 22/18 pf aswell.

joetsai: Try a different usb-rs232 converter. The one on the picture looks like mine, $5 garbage.

rafael: Who told you about 100v capacitors? 12v is all you need, 16v capacitors are standard.

    @Frakk - there is 100V capacitor :)
My supplier doesn't have 16v ceramic capacitors, but he has all standard F values at 100V, and they are of same size as 16V ones.

I think it is OK to use the ones for higher voltage, basically you just need to keep the original F values.
The main problem with higher voltage values is that it is sometime hard to fit the capacitor on the board.
    So, 22pf/100V is same as 22pf/250V, ...
If you can fit it to the AMC board, do it.

    Yes I know. :)

But you don't need 100v caps for a 5v logic circuit... The parts list should be changed because there is no reason to get 100v, unless it is your only option.

AFAIK all capacitor in industrial grade circuit must be at least multiply by 3. Let say in logic circuit the capasitor value must be 5V x 3 = 15V (minimum). So u don't need to put 100V there.
