    Welcome @daniel rouette.

Doing some research before getting in too deep is time well spent.

Bounce your plans and shopping list off members before jumping too far down what can be an expensive rabbit hole, if you get it wrong.

Use the Search on the Recent page to find similar projects as to what you have in mind.

You will also find plenty of helpful information in the FAQs, including code and instructions for using Arduino with a range of controllers: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

If something sounds odd then look it up in the glossary: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

When you are ready please start your own project thread here and detail your project, so members can give support and advice where possible: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

    Good luck with your project.

    Welcome @stasjminister.

Indeed it can be a bit of a fun rabbit hole, so check out the FAQs, review member projects of the type of rig you want to build, and post your plans before going on a spending spree.

    Hi everyone,
I'm Nailson and I'm from Brazil. I recently built a 3DOF simulator. I made a seatbelt actuation system, as well as a vibration system. I will soon post material demonstrating its operation and some aspects that I consider new. I take this opportunity to thank everyone, as I did a lot of research before starting my project. I apologize for not being fluent in English. I would be immensely happy if I could return the favor to any colleague. Best regards

    Welcome @Nailson Roveta.

Our creative community is indeed a great source of inspiration, ideas and pragmatic advice.

I look forward to seeing the details of your rig and build, I see you have started a thread for that and I will enjoy following, which I am sure others will also do.

Hi there, Alexis from France; came across this forum months ago when my son asked about using my old force feedback wheel on his PS5, one click led to another and here I am building a 6DOF sim :grin

I will be creating a new building thread shortly, design based on all the great info I found here.

    Welcome @chiarelloa.

I see you have started your thread and project, plus bring to it some very useful skills, and confidence, for such a challenging first motion rig project.

I look forward to following your progress.

    Hello All,

New Member here! I have no current Setup to speak of, but i have a VR headset and a Decent PC, i have been browsing the forum a little bit, found you guys from a video that Early_m had posted on YouTube so big thanks to him, (im also new to forums in general so not really sure how to tag ppl etc)

my hope here is to design and build something that is compact and storable, and easy to disassemble / reassemble when i want to use it sitting here typing this next to my 10 day old baby so i guess its a target i can aim for :D

I have Basic Electronics skills, no really engineering skills to speak of and a rudimentary understanding of scripting. Powered by dreams and chat GPT and coffee the sky is clearly the limit here :D

Anyway thanks for reading and i hope to be able to contribute something to this community as i get started.

    Cheers
    Aki
