Please try removing the plugin from SimTools v3. Restart SimTools and reinstall the plugin.
The patching routine was updated on the 16th of last month and tested to be working.
So please give it a try buddy :thumbs

@yobuddy Perhaps, this is already requested, when do you expect to have telemetry support for AC Rally and PMR?

Close game engine and game manager then use the simtools plugin updater and just drag and drop

Simply install then thru the plugin manager directly in SimTools v3. There is no need to place them anywhere by hand.

They get added to the repo directly in SimTools v3.

The simulator starts from the SimTool v3 interface, but not from the Steam game directory.

Is it possible to make profile switching automatic for Raceroom Racing Experience? (I couldn't find if this has been asked and answered).

I would be a very valuable to feature.

ok so i have tried this a number of way but cannot get x-planes 12 to work under simtools plugin.
first, the 6DOF works in simtools just fine and you can run the sliders and get the chair to move correctly.
this indicates that the simtools is setup right.

now when you run the plugin, and x-planes the chair jumps and vibrates terribly. i have all the right settings in x-planes that the plugin lists. i have the right UDP and port. However i think the plugin has issues.

now, to test i have setup the same profile in DCS and walla the chair/virtual output work just fine and behaves like it should. moving back to X-planes just random vibrations and in Virtual output the output mimics the chair. i have tried to set the smoothing, the delay, etc. Nope still no good.

I even changed the min/max settings and nope, still not go.

given this does not seem to work, i can only guess its a buggy plugin for 3d rotation.
my next test is to download x-planes 11 and see if it works.

    has anyone else experienced this?

About a year and a half ago, I had problems with iRacing after an update. It was fixed with a new plugin that was sent to me by email (the one that wasn't in the repo). Now I'm having the same problem again; it's not working. I've tried reinstalling the new plugins that are in the repo and even the one that was sent to me by email, but it still doesn't work (the other simulators work without problems). Has this happened to anyone else?

Has there been any iRacing updates, as historically those have been known to create breaking issues?

Yes, one just last week. It was working before the update, so I guess that's why.

TLDR: If SimTools3 gets blocked by "smart App Control" you might have to reinstall the Serial interface plugin.

Recently I updated to Windows 11 so much fun. A new feature is "Smart App Comtrol". Normally this is turned off but sometimes just out of spite Windows turns it on. When you start SimTools3 Windows says "Smart app control is disabling some features" in about 2o prompt boxes. Ok turn it off restart etc etc. Don't get the warning anymore but it doesn't work AT ALL for any games.

So when no games were working I looked at the interfaces. The serial interfaces were all gone. I have two and one network interface. Bizzarly it was fine with the UDP over the network one but the serial ones were completely blank. Not disabled just gone. It doesn't complain about SMCUtils or a serial terminal program I wrote but it seems very angry with SimTools3.

As a workaround I would at least like to save that interface data away. I did a search here and didn't find any references wo Smart app so I assume no one else is seeing it or its a new feature of some recent update.

Can you just set it up to allow that app like a firewall:

Short answer: No, Windows Smart App Control does not let you manually whitelist or override blocked apps. If it blocks something, the only way to run it is if the app has a valid digital signature or if you disable Smart App Control entirely.

EDIT: In the end the Serial plugin was gone. I uninstalled and reinstalled SimTools3 but don't know if that was necessary. I reinstalled the serial plugins and when I set the interface type to serial the data came back that I had originally set up.
