I'm not sure about the the DC input of this drive, but should be similar optocouplers like the AASD15A and thus probably will work fine with 5v.

From what I gather this is using similar circuit for the drive part, but it needs external Brake resistor and possibly won't be able to set it to run on 110v if you need to. Also heard the power wiring is somewhat complicated as well, might have to search for instructions on how others did wire it.

    Thanks

I was just wondering if you figured this out. I am also considering using these motors for a project. Did the S2 servo drivers work with the AMC controller?

I really prefer the official AASD drives, depending where you source them, some vendors even have CE certification for them.

Oh, and by the way, I almost forgot to share my latest build. Hopefully will help some people.

    Thanks

I ended up buying the typical st80/AASD15. The seller on amazon only had 7 of them, so i didnt want to try one then not be able to buy the rest, or gamble with buying 6 outright.

    hello guys,
experiencing some weird error AL-05 on the driver 1 of my rig. It started with error AL-04 at powering the rig, then turned to 05 at software lauching, then during running, and now when stopping game after few seconds if doing nothing
Setting : Eracinglab actuators + surge effect from Ali sellers, thanos board , own software based on Thanos example written in Processing
anyone has aleady experienced that ?

Should probably contact eracing-lab for this kind of hardware alarms. Perhaps something is not mounted correctly on the actuator, or could be wiring issue. They can guide you through the steps to troubleshoot.

thanks, i will report their answer if we can fix that.

here is the answer from ERacingLab
"Inconsistent alarm codes is usually caused by cabling issues. I would recommend to completely disconnect the cables, then re-connect them again, especially the two aviation type connectors joining the motor and the extension cable."

So disconnected all the wires and reconnected all, then reset everything , then entered the values given on Thanos page.

first test : ran JOG mod, a noise( clac) like the motor stalls and error AL-04
Other test: powered all the stuff and then plug Thanos board ,immediatly same little clac and error AL-04

will send this report to ERL

In addition, disconnected motor from actuator, shaft turns by hand softly, but in jog mode alarm and little " clac " noise come quickly................so should I suspect a brake problem ?
in this case is there another way solution than changing the whole motor ?

Brake? What brake? These servos shouldn't have a brake.

i was told it could be such a problem , anyway i have tried again Reset and Jog and the clic clic clic noise is still here....
i think i have to plan a new purchase ?

well trying the motor on another driver and jog is ok, no alarm, so I suppose the driver is faulty,
After trying reset and enter PN values correctly , no change.
Don't know if those aasd are subject to misfunctions or is it a random case?

I never seen a faulty AASD, even though I got several of them over the years. Could be faulty wiring? Can you swap with another drive that you know it works?

ok, i' am going to the garage right now ! ;)

tried the motor with another driver, everything right,

compared the wiring everything similar and the error went the day after a session, didn"t work anymore

fnOO4 and FN002 all values to the right ones and AL-04:(:(
