Hello, can you help with installing simtools 3 and 2.6, etc., when I want to install it gives me a window that the update file could not be unzipped, and old versions are installed without problems. What is the reason? I apologize for my English.I wanted to purchase a license and update simtools, but in the end I had a lot of questions.

I have to believe its your antivirus causing the issue.
Maybe try running the installer as admin to see if it can download and extract the file.
You could also try whitelisting SimTools in your Antivirus too.

No progress, no result, the defender antivirus is disabled and the firewall was disabled. According to the video on how to install simtools3, they say that there should be a second config file, but I don’t have it. My operating system is windows8.

I am getting this same error after simtools has been working great and suddenly stopped working with Iracing. Simtools was not getting any data from the sim so I decided to uninstall and reinstall simtoolsv3. After installing I got error logging saying the main gui could not update. I uninstalled again and was going to install v2 but I get gene eorror that the file could not be unzipped. I’ve tried both ver 2 and 3 and got the same error. I wiped the drive did a fresh install of windows 10 and still get the same error even after a fresh download of both simtools versions
I am extremely annoyed and have tried everything to whitelist the file with the same problem getting the error.
    PLEASE HELP

Can you please clarify further, and provide details, as the same license can be used for SimTools 2 and 3, and it is unclear from your comment what your issue actually is, but there are plenty of people here who can potentially help you out.

I had to do a more thorough wipe of my drive as ghost settings were present when reinstalling windows 10
After using a strong wiping software and a fresh install of windows I had no more issues but am finding that some windows updates tend to brake some software, I’ve had issues with sound drivers, wmd drivers and simtools to say the least.
