I am in the process of building Kevinski's 4DOF Motion Simulator.

To know more on the motion Simulator, you can watch his YouTube tutorials starting with this one or look for Kevinski's Tutorials in the Xsimulator forums.

I have added to this rig a 4 point safety Harness that will tension and add to the immersion for a better experience.

The idea behind it is that the top frame moves for pitch and roll, Surge and Heave; The bottom frame moves for Traction Loss / Sway.

To mimic G forces that you would feel during acceleration , breaking , change of direction etc. can be correlated to the differential of distance between the top frame movement and the bottom frame movement.

To build the Harness / seat belt tensioner, I purchased a ( pre loved ) 4 point racing harness for $50 from FB Marketplace and 2 off the Atlantic 4" Boat Trailer Rollers from BCF at $19.99 each and used some left over steel from building my rig.[IMG]
I also used an old bungee cord that was first cut in half and then used 6mm bolts inserted into the hollow core of the bungee cord to make a fixing point to the motion sim bottom frame, secured by an 8mm hose clamp. Please take note that positioning of the seat belt is important and should be horizontal when leaving the top of your shoulders to the rollers as in the photo below. seat belt tensioner harness showing horizontal shouldr to roller IMG_0575.jpg

I was almost tempted to use these paint rollers welded to a centre spine to save on cash, but the aesthetics got the better of me. paint rollers IMG_8809.jpg

I really like how simple and with the simplest resources your rig was built.
