Sorry to hear that your VR2 doesn't give the great image quality that is claimed and raved about online .
Maybe worth a chat with Vthinsel..
He said his PS5 / VR2 was giving great image quality on GT7.
Maybe there are some settings to tweak?

my psvr2 is totally fine, but the lack in detail in gt7 vr compared to non-vr is very obvious and breaks immersion - i guess that pc vr is way better, although i never played it, so far.
but i love gt7 vr, it is the best i have ever played.

    Sorry I misunderstood...
I did not realise the lack of detail aspect in VR.
I have read some reviews, and they all say great image quality.
I saw when I loaded GT7 yesterday, and did the initial setup, it gave me the option of higher frame rate, or better image detail
I chose better image detail, as I'm only using an old 40 inch TV for PS and PC. 60 Hz max and 1080p. Plus the PSVR1.
No immersion using the TV with my rig. Hence VR.
I see on the forums and groups, a high spec PC and top end graphics give best results... It just needs a lot of money for the PC components.
    Thanks for the information.
    Appreciated.
    W

    Hi guys,
I just realized, that you use your rig with GT7 !!!! That`s great, and thanks to @vthinsel for the plugin !
When installing the requirements, all dependencies are installed, but then I get an error when building.

I am using Python 3.11.9 and also installed the VS Buildtools for 2022 (but not sure if I installed the correct ones, there is a bunch of different buildtools. Should I use "Desktop development with C++" ?
    (6 GB necessary, uups !)

    Thanks for any hint.

    cheers,

Yes, maybe, but I am a friend to build things by my own.
I am not that familiar with pip and Windows.
When doing the "pip install -r requierments.txt" I thought it just takes the source packages from the txt file and installs them.
But what is doing the build, then ? (where the error comes, as it refers to the wrong MS VStudio)
Someone know, how I adapt the path ? (so that MSVC22 is used and not MSVC17)

Ok, I managed to fix it. Installing the build tools for MSVC2017 solved the problem !

    Any idea ?

BTW, using the "official" exe is also running great on my Desktop7Development PC. I see all the infos in the dosbox.
But when i run it on my minipc (which I use for the rig), it runs, but I see a never ending scrolling text inside the dos box, no info. Need to catch it later or tomorrow, but it seems some encoding signs shown (escape sequence). Also strange.

And I am not able to use the sway/surge, my movement on the axis is nearly zero, no matter what i configure.
But I guess with your help I will get rid of the problems (as always) :)

Ah, the wrong/strange window output seems to be solved in message #12.
So windows-curses is not part of the exe release 1.7.2 ?

sorry, I was wrong in my message above. The error in message #169 is not occuring when generating the exe. This is sucessful.
But the error is thrown when the generated .exe is started.

Guys, I drived now my first rounds with GT7 and my rig. Great feeling, I love it.
But my Sway is somehow problematic. I only got values between +/- 0.3 in the TuningCenter and when checking with virtual axis turned on, the sway bar is very fast jumping from left to right. Any hints of what I can do ?
Is this a setting problem or a known issue with GT7 plugin ?

Try a larger value in the TC, as that should give smoother motion over a greater range.

    Ok, I will do.
But it is exactly as in post #38, where the video shows the flickering/jumping of sway and surge.
Should I provide a video or some debug logs ?

Hi, I managed to get it working with GT Sport (and PSVR1). You need to adapt the port and the "crypto key".

Here is an updated GT7.py script. You only need to use the command line '--gtsport True' in addition to play GTSport and get the telemetry out of it (or use the GT7 plugin).
