    Hi,

I just found (conrad.de) that pressure sensor:

    diagramm.jpg
It costs around 12€, has a durability of 10.000.000 operations and works like a pot with 1V-5V.

Should work fine in combination with a progressive elastomere gum, so the pedal can move a bit and the sensor won't get hurt by blank metal.

    German data sheet: http://www2.produktinfo.conrad.com/date ... _150NS.pdf

    Anyone tried one of these?

    Cheers,
    Jay

I have one, i only tri it with gameport (long time ago) and multimeter. It need op. amplifier to get linear progression.

The sensor has 15kΩ@1Nm/100g and 3kΩ@100Nm/10kg. Should be enough for the software. I'll give it a try :)

But look at graf, its behave like you little push and its go from 1000kOhm to 10kOhm instantely, then there is small area where you can use it and then its almost insensitive. I was able to stear with it by putting PET bottle to it an push thru it (i can contrl force mutch better. In datasheet they have circuit with Op. amplifier to get linear proggresion. zapojeni.jpg

I'm using a load cell/strain guague for my brake. A simple interface circuit with an INA122PA chip gives 0-5v output for Mjoy etc. It's the same chip Leo uses in his LC USB joystick interface. Chip is < AU$10, load cell can be had off ebay for about AU$25. Check my site for PCB and circuit layout.

I also use INA122P with a load cell, I think it´s the best solution.

I've found a way to get rid of the amplifier. Very easy to build with a tiny 8 legged uC and a low pass filter. Can be hooked up to any joystick controller.

Sounds interesting! Could you make a layout for this circuit as soon as it is tested?

    Regards

Sure. The layout and code are already done. Couldn't test it because I fried the last pressure sensor. Bought a couple new sensors (7$/piece). But shipping from overseas takes some time...

could you give the specification of that component, here is very dificult to find INA122P.

There are some semiconductor based pressure sensors around for a reasonable price and they already have calibrated and amplified outputs. I'll try to find some specific parts.
