    I'm struggling to wire my dual H board) 2dof)
    With pot and uno R3 arduino.
    Is there maybe Sim tools arduino code specifically for attached board.
    And also a wiring diagram please

    Hey Lesley, I don’t recognize that board but maybe others do. It always helps if you include model/part numbers/manufacture (if known), etc.

    The “out” terminals look like they go to your motors. The 5v, 12v, and gnd are pretty straightforward, too. But the digital signals are more of a puzzle. You may need to get the h-bridge component part numbers and manufacturer data sheet, and trace connections on your board, to sort the digital lines if there isn’t a datasheet for the whole circuit board.

    L298N Module Pin Configuration:
    Pin Name - Description

    IN1 & IN2 - Motor A input pins. Used to control the spinning direction of Motor A

    IN3 & IN4 - Motor B input pins. Used to control the spinning direction of Motor B

    ENA - Enables PWM signal for Motor A

    ENB - Enables PWM signal for Motor B

    OUT1 & OUT2 - Output pins of Motor A

    OUT3 & OUT4 - Output pins of Motor B

    12V - 12V input from DC power Source

    5V - Supplies power for the switching logic circuitry inside L298N IC

    Hey Lesley, I took a quick look at another L298N datasheet and max rated current is 4A and I believe that is total for the device. 3A max on each motor (https://www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/389/l298-1849437.pdf) (now I see you also quoted the ampere rating but not sure why the difference - might be heat sinking or even different chip grades)

    It looks like more of a robotics type of H-bridge and not really suitable for motion sim use because of the low current rating. For example, the worm gear motors I use on my 2DOF (the ubiquitous pgsaw crab pot motors on ebay) can pull 20-30A under load and would probably pop the L298N’s quick.

    Depending on what kind of setup, that might not matter to you but I bet it does. The 298N might be appropriate for a demo model/proof of concept not meant to carry a rider but I don’t think it’s a suitable bridge circuit for a full-size motion sim.

    Most here use MonsterMoto boards, Pololu controllers, or Dimension Engineering Sabertooth controllers, with heat sinking and frequently fan cooling since the MonsterMoto and Pulolu boards in particular are being way overloaded and generally running out of specification.

    If you check other people’s builds here you can see what bridges and circuits they use. Motion sim motors can pull a lot of current as they try to lift and throw our big water sacks around.

    Look through here (https://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/) and especially look at projects similar to what you want to build. You can gets lots of information as you read through and see what worked, what didn’t, what could be better, etc. It can save you lots of time, effort, grief, and money.

    hey i started of with a couple L298N's myself and learned quick that they dont give enough power. i would suggest a couple moto monsters which are Dual VNH2SP30's. the l298ns are weak. Dual VNH2SP30.jpg

    if you pin it yourself you can piggy back of the arduino , no bread board ,no jumpers. unless you want more power and give each motor its own moto monster. but still can be ran off one arduino uno.

    Just a word of caution, genuine moto monsters are no longer made, just cheap clones and they need to be tested before use as often they can be faulty: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/monster-moto-testing-before-use.158/

    You also need cooling on the moto monster chips, or risk burning them out.
