I upgraded a bit more the power box by adding a meter. Everything still fit perfectly.

    Hi @Thanos
I bought your AMC -AASD15A motor controller last May and it no longer works. I turned it off as usual and when I opened it the next day, nothing. I checked the drivers and everything is normal, on the LCD screen I only have some kind of square that appears, what should I do?

It looks like it's in bootloader mode. Once goes on bootloader it remains until you load Firmware on it.

The only reason I can think of being responsible, is an EMI spike that can cause a reset of the controller and undervoltage on the PC, that can trigger the bootloader... do you have the AMC-AASD15A hooked up directly on the PC motherboard USB port on the back?

I'd recommend, disconnect all DB25 cables and load the firmware:
    https://www.simracingstudio.com/forum/motion-profiles-actuator/thanos-firmware-update-guide

Also try to get one of these powered USB hub, so it won't happen again. Motherboard USB ports can be finicky with loads, and sometimes lower current limits to power save...

    Thanks

Yes it directly connected to the PC.

I uploaded the new firmware last month .

Surprinsingly i started it up today and it is working fine, i don't know what happened but it works ! maybe a spike like you said , i don't know.

Thanks for the quick response, I will still consider buying a powered USB hub.

I have been trying to set up my new controller but cannot get it to talk to Simtools properly. When connected I get the message 'receiving motion data' but there isn't any movement, when I turn output testing off it shuts the game manager down.

I currently have other motors connected using sabretooth drives, will this cause issues with the AMC software?

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

It turns out I was connecting axis 5 on Simtools to servo 1 on the board, apparently axis 5 has to be connected to servo 5. All is working now but Simtools still shuts down when I turn off the motor test.

Try using a line filter on the servo drive power, and perhaps try another USB cable, some cables are made way too cheap and with no shielding...

    New Firmware release for AMC-AASD15A

    - Version 2.25 fix0

    • Added state machine for the LCD refresh to be performed only when needed.
    • Will display the state of the servos STANDBY or PARK immediately.
    • Improved the automated motion when not connected to the motion software.
    • Fixed a bug where a timer failed to restore affecting the colors of the LCD during online motion.

The firmware locations have changed with each different folders for each chip version (1280 or 2560), along the firmware update utility with presets for each chip.

I didn't include 20mm leadscrew as its not commonly used.

But you can trick the controller into using one by selecting 10mm stroke with 270mm stroke value. Your 20mm leadscrew should extent to 520mm then just fine.

    Thanks
