    6DOF
This is my first time using a forum so I apologize in advance if I make any mistakes. I have reviewed many projects here, I have read many of your ideas. I can say that you have enviable skills and talents. I live in Turkey. I am very interested in racing simulators. But I'm just interested:) I am not as knowledgeable as you. I signed up here to become a member and I need your help. Owning a 6DoF simulator in Turkey is at the same price as a brand new Mercedes E series in many of your countries. I decided to make my own design to overcome this problem caused by the exchange rate difference. If I'm successful, maybe I can get many orders because Turkey lags behind in such innovations. I know it's been a long post. I can find all kinds of technological equipment and support to make 6 DoF Simulators. The question is.. Where should I start? What parts do I need and how can I find out why I need these parts?

Thanks in advance for your patience and help.

Any 6DOF is an ambitious first project. So doing some research before getting in any deeper is time well spent.

There is a 6DOF section in the FAQs, it has some good information related to design but in some areas related to actuators it is a bit dated: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/6dof.22/category

So use the Enhanced Google Search on the Recent page to find the latest member 6DOF projects, as there have been many refinements to how members build 6DOF rigs.

If something sounds odd then look it up in the glossary: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

    Welcome @yvzklc,

In this forum you will find everything and nothing.

"Everything", because no matter how geeky the idea, someone on the forums here will have tried it already. I'm sure.
"Nothing" because there is such a load of really good threads that you will need a lot of reading to find what you're looking for. Chances are you will not even know what you're looking for until you find it.

Don't make a detailed plan and spend a lot of money just jet. Instead, get yourself an arduino, get familiar with SMC3, play around with Mover and just try to get some DC motor running. Won't cost you more than ~30€ to start.

In the end, for a full scale 6DOF I can recommend AASD servos, but the most important step this early is to just play, learn and bring yourself in a position where you can judge for yourself which is the right hardware to buy.

    This is fun!

    Cheers,... Dirty :)
