This might be a stupid question.... but when I'm testing this setup with smc3 ... must the pot circuit be complete for me to get voltage output from my ibt2 driver I'm just running a DC motor just to get the setup right ... my encoders are wired in to my rig ... do the encoders have to be wired in

smc 3 does not work with encoders - it uses potentiometers

your motors are only 1 amp - what sort of gearbox do they use ?

Hi thanks, Gadget999 ... not sure of the gearbox ratio and spec will get them threw the day,, I'm exploring, a different easier way for me to integrate the positioning feed back ... would I need to change any type of code if i need the system to get positioning feed back from the encoders... thanx Gadget999...

So I'm thinking why can't I do away with my absolute encoders... and modify my actuator to take a hall sensor pick up ....
