Due to a delay in an order for threaded inserts (supposed to be located in the US but actually shipping from China) I cannot complete the last actuator. So I have three....yeah...but then again I have three completed so YEAH! :)

Along with my aluminum profile I also ordered large angle brackets for the top and bottom and smaller ones to use on the sides. I only had to take an end apart twice to remember to put the bracket nuts in before sealing it all up :p

The HDPE is incredible for the top/bottom and center slider. Easy to work with and reusable threads, as well as holding the bolts tight.

Thanks @wannabeaflyer2 but don't you have easy access to phenolic material? I would love to get some 12-25mm sheets. A buddy who lives in Germany told me they sell it at local hardware stores. I know that you are in the UK but I assume it is as easy to get there?

I was a bit worried about the actuators sliding off the sway platform under hard motion so I put some guards around them. These are half cuts from the first test parts for the top and bottoms of the actuators. I rebored them to 64mm and cut them in half.

I fly more that I drive. But to be honest; the building/tinkering is the best part of the hobby.

Yes without those retainers the top deck would slide off the bottom platform.
Up on the SFX website they have some stl files for such a fix. It is a bottom foot and matching cup...

@wannabeaflyer2 I have never had the opportunity to mill anything out of it but I have read good things about using it for prototyping...just don't breath it in.

Finally got around to installing a door slide lock. I need something to keep the side panel locked in place at various angles. Closed all the way for normal use, partial open for using my Huey collective, etc. This works perfectly.

I used scraps of HDPE 33mm from my actuator build to make the bearings/slides and a 12mm brass rod for the actual slide. A bicycle flip tightener works very well for a friction break.

@SeatTime your quote is from a different thread (amazing G-seat) but I agree with you to the point that I will never go back to DC motors.

So people don't think that I am finished (we never are, are we?) I printed this from files from Thingiverse

Suppose I should mention what this is. The Thanos AMC controller has an RJ-45 plug that allows you to attach an Estop, a green status light, a momentary switch to set your controller (an thereby motors) to standby/Park (amber light) and a force offline switch (red light).

Here we go. The completed SFX100+100+TL+Surge+Sway 6DoF simpit. (That is a mouthful to say...)

The motors are detuned to 1500 rpm max, I did that for testing but to be honest it is pretty violent at that speed.

(sorry about the sound..it is a bit loud but if you watch long enough I turn off the speakers and you can hear only the motion system)

I need to mix surge with pitch I think. Although it feels pretty powerful when I am riding but you almost cant see the surge move forward and back in the video. Otherwise, yes pretty smooth

    Excellent build! Congratulations!

May I know which type of ball screw are you using for the SFX100? The screws position on the slider seem to be different.

I am using 1605 ball screws, those pictures only show some screws holding the assembly together, they are not used in the final assembly. They are the same ballscrews recommended by the SFX100 website with the exception of being 100mm longer.
