    Good to hear. I also bought several mtomonsters first and find out they was carbage. I throw them away and now i buy soldering heat gun and was thinking that maybe i could save them just by taking ic:s of and solder again? But its too late now

    I've tried this to, but it didn't work. I wasted way to much time on this, while building my sim :(. You can only learn form the mistakes you made and don't make them again in the future:thumbs.

    Hi guys,
    So I was doing some tests yesterday and while testing I realised the wiper motors, I am using, aren't strong enough. So I am looking for some wiper motors which can at least lift 100kg.
    Please let me know were I can find these. It would be very helpfull :thumbs.
    (They do need to be available in europe, because I only have one month to finish my project :()

    Hi guys,
    A couple of weeks ago I bought new, stronger, motors for my 2DOF motion simulator (type of motor: 90ZYT-155-12 25:00). I bought them here:https://www.motioncontrolproducts.co.uk/sections/8/dc-brushed-motors/
    Because they are much stronger, then the ones I had before, I changed my two single channel motomonsters to two double channel motomonsters. I did this to prevent them from breaking down.
    So what I wanted to ask is if need to change my settings in SMC3, because I use 2 doucle channel motomonster. If yes, what do I need to change?

    In the SMC3 graph you can check how well your rig responds to control inputs, if you get under or over shoots then you need to refine your settings.

    Hi guys,
    So yesterday I tested both of my motomonster and they were functioning as normal. I tested all drivers seperately. (motor per A/B out). Today I made this (check picture down below) setup and the motomonster have no output. What could be the problem? Because I have nog clue why I'm not getting any output[​IMG]

    I tested both motomonster seperatly and rewired them. After I did this they both worked, so if anyone encounterd this before. Just try this and it could possibly solve your problem.

    Hi guys,
    I have a question about the max limits and clip input in the SMC3 util. If you reduce your Max limits, will the rotation of your motors become bigger. Or is this something I can only manipulate with Simtools? I just want to prevent my motors going over the tipping point, so my potentiometers would break.

    Clip Input Used to create a band at either limit of the target range beyond which any values sent to the SMC3 are clipped. In addition to this clipping, if the motor feedback does move beyond this range (typically through inertia), the SMC3 will attempt to brake the motors hard by driving them in reverse until they are back out of this limit zone. The value can be anything from 0-255 (however can’t be less than the current limit setting). Reverse braking is applied in the band between the Clip Input and the Max Limit settings. Reverse braking can be disabled - refer to PWMrev.

    Max Limits Used to create a band at either limit of the feedback range beyond which if the motors move (typically through inertia) the SMC3 will automatically shutdown the drivers and keep them disabled until reset. This is essentially a safety mechanism if something goes wrong. The value can be between 0-255 (however can’t be greater than the current clip setting).

    Everything moves like I expect it to move. The only thing that is a little strange is that when I move surge, to the left side, the motors only respond when surge is on -100. Or sometimes there is a delay before the move to the requested position.

    Almost getting there, I hope !
    After having problems with my wipermotors not being strong enough and replacing them with stronger motors, I as well replaced the single motomonsters by dual to avoid them to be burned by too much current.

    Now, it seems that smc3 is reacting fine (see screenshot and video)
    both motors are for testing running with the same config and are reacting fine.

    With Simtools however, the motors do not move below the starting (middle potentiometer) position.
    Axis limiting is set to 65%. With the previous (weak) wipermotors and single motomonsters, I didn't have this issue.

    You can't run SMC3 and SimTools at the same time, it will cause a port conflict.

    I do not run them at the same time. SMC3 is closed when I run Simtools or visa versa.

    now, I have movement below the starting position but only when moving surge or sway to -100% like there is nothing in between. aaaaarrrrggg, so frustrating. Above starting position, there is nice lineair movement, for both motors)

    Hi Noorbeast,

    thanks for your involvement. Really appreciated as I do not know anymore what to do and I need to have my project finished in 3 weeks. :confused:
    As said, testing with smc3 runs fine for both directions of both motors. You see the pot value nice in sync with the engine.
    As for testing with simtools, 1 direction (above starting position) is working ok, (nice lineair movement) the other direction (below starting position) moves only at 100% axis testing and at full range. (see video). This behavior is the same for both motors.



    I notice when changing the polarity of the motors this behavior (of deflecting only at 100%) is the same but for the opposite direction of movement. How can this happen and why does it all look fine in smc3 ? Could this be related to a wiring problem of the MM ? Is it correct to wire A1+B1 to 1 lead and A2+B2 to the other side of the motor or am I missing something in here ? (see picture in previous post)

    below the requested simtools settings. Axis limiting was increased from 50 to 65% since the video you were refering to.
