    Well I certainly can't take credit for this.. I saw it on BoostedMedia's YouTube site. And he got the idea from one of his subscribers.. But I will say, It adds to the immersion weather you have VR or not. Having those shoulder straps crank down on you when you are braking!

    I finally upgraded my motherboard, proc and ram from an i3 to an older I-7 that my son gave me after he upgraded his pc.. This thing is pretty good now..
    I7 3960x cpu LGA 2011
    noctua NFU12S fan setup
    Asus P9x79 WS MB with 32GB ram.. It can hold much more but I found one of the DIM slots to be not functioning so for a MB from 2012.. not too bad.
    Here is an update video on it and the motion platform working.. video is in 1080 so it should be pretty clear

    Tuned up the SIM... Racing action at Riverside Raceway. 3 DOF Arduino, Crab Pot motors (working just fine) 55 hours of racing in.

    70 Hours into the Sim and very little issues. Every now and then one of the Hall effect POTS has a loose connection to the arduino (possibly due to vibration..*always seems to be the same thing every 50 laps or so). So I have decided to solder everything to the bottom of the arduino as my next upgrade. Either way, here's a video from today featuring a Shelby Cobra (pretty powerful) at Imola, italy..     I bought a used computer years ago and when I took it apart I found the previous owner had put some stuff on the connectors to keep them becoming not connectors :). It was almost like really old chewing gum in consistency but easy to clean. I wish I knew what that stuff was because it seems like it would be perfect for this sort of application.

    Hi, so even if you don't have a 2080 or 3080 TI card, you can still have some fun with a DIY RIG..
    Here's a video of the Rig (even with a spin out) so you can see it in action. I am going to be doing some upgrades next week on the RIG (soldering the arduino, and some fanatec pedals) but for now I am just using some super basic pedals and steering wheel.. Take a look if you have a chance .. DMAX

    Yeah I know what you mean. Every time I add something, I keep tweaking it to keep it performing correctly. I recently added V-3 pedals and whoooo Man..! I had to rebalance the whole rig! :D

    So I saw a message from TAZ about my settings.. A little more pitch roll and sway.. So I added a bit more sway. So far pitch an roll are very low (I drive in VR with Rift CV1 - so it seems ok to me).. I set the sway to 17..

    I bought the crab pot motors from canada. I got them on EBAY. They seem to be working fine for me after 1 year. I thought the shipping for the motion dynamics motors was way out of bounds so I did not buy the motion dynamics motors . Here is a link to EBAY for the motors I bought from PGSAW

    Finally got around to building my control box, instead of just having the arduino's and wires just hanging out everywhere.

    I was experiencing intermittent issues with the hall effect pot being read by the Arduino and always solved the issue by re-seating the wires. But that was a pain. So decided to solder all the connections on the Arduino but leave the IBT-2 connections as 8 pin connectors.

    I have a 120MM fan blowing on the IBT-2’s. You can see this was kind of an “initial” Proof of concept build for me. So now here is a photo of the new build. upload_2021-1-26_17-54-57.png

    So Here is my Solution. 120MM 12v fan blows on the IBT-2 fins. The Arduino and other connectors are in the Black Box. Also have a Celeron Fan Blowing at the other side of the IBT-2’s. I also reworked the wiring a bit as you can see in the next photo. upload_2021-1-26_17-55-34.png

    So Here I should have the ability to pull out an IBT-2 if it burns out (pretty easily) All the IBT-2 power wires are pretty small 8 AWG, but that’s what comes with the crab pot motors so that’s what I used. I have shielded wires from each Hall-effect POT. All wires to the Arduino are soldered. I used (old soundcard 10 pin connectors) to wire from the Arduino to the IBT-2’s.

    Also have several 12V sources also connected to power both fans and an additional 12V for the wind sim option up front of the rig.

    Initially, my rig grew from 2 DOF to adding the third IBT / motor combo for Traction loss. I was excited to get everything working so I just cobbled everything together. This was my first serious effort at getting it a bit more reliable. Right now I have about 20 minutes testing but no real running in so we will see if I need to make any more holes to vent heat. To me, it looks much better. But the proof will be in ‘reliable operation’ .

    Ok, So I have YET to get the Monster Moto/SEAFLOW 250CFM blowers going but, I do have the 2 x 120mm fans working. Here is a video on setting up my SIM for NoLimits 2 Rollercoaster.

    Hello Friend. I wanted to replace the motomonster with ibt_2. I followed the diagram I am attaching. to test I connected all the cables but only a motor and a potentiometer. when I try with SMC3 the motor only moves on one side. what could you be wrong? thank you
