Right now I have an oculus rift s with a gtx 1070 and a ryzen 5 2600. My pc struggles to run dirt rally 2.0 in vr (I understand it’s a taxing game on vr). I’ve been thinking about upgrading to a Rtx 2070 super or maybe even a Rtx 2080 super. Any suggestions or settings that would help me achieve better frame rates without the game looking like garbage? Also I only have 8gb of ram. I’m going to go to 16 no matter what. Not sure what my bottleneck is.

If you're thinking about getting a new card soon, I echo noorbeast's comment and wait until the new nvidia cards release before purchasing. It's pretty much around the corner.

9/17/2020 can't come any sooner! This is looking really good

The GeForce RTX 3070 will cost $499 USD and will be “faster” than the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti “at less than half the price.” The RTX 2070 is the same price as the 3070, at $499, but the RTX 3070 is “60% faster”. The GeForce RTX 3070 has a release date inside the month of October.

MSFS 2020 looks awesome on the rtx 2080 ti

the rtx 3090 for 8k gaming is very interesting with 24gb of gddr6x memory

I am so glad i did not buy an rtx 2000 series. 3000 is such a huge boost per cost. Will be fun to see the boost in VR users this Christmas!

I would agree to wait for the RTX 3070 (or 3080). I purchased my RTX 2070 Super in March this year and has been fantastic for gaming on my 3440 x 1440 screen and running VR on Oclulus Rift but a little gutted the new cards are such a huge improvement per dollar (yet to be proven in the real world). The prices for 20xx cards are already dropping but that is probably people getting rid of their current cards before the price falls right through the floor.

Unless specifically implemented SLI won't work in VR, and hardly any game devs have provided SLI support.

The most powerful GPU someone can afford is the best way to go for VR, though CPU can also be a bottleneck.

SLI isn't worth it your only using one GPU and slows other games aaack !!
RTX 2080ti sea hawk you can keep ramping up the super sampling until your Z390 collapse's

It depends on the specifications, but in the case of vr, if the frame falls, it causes dizziness. If you want some realistic graphics, upgrading to a better graphics card is one of your options.

RTX 4090 :D. no ...seriously ..whats under you hood these days for VR ?

i replaced my 3080 at release of the 4090 ... 3080 works fine with all VR titles i play but i want to get rid of some poor RT performance in some games and so i replaced it :D but theres a real fps gain also in VR titles

i use the valve index .... maybe i update later to pimax 8k or something ...

4070TI here running Project cars 2 but thinking of switching to Automobilista 2. the sad thing is that i have so much running on my motion rig that i don't really achieve the 90 fps without degrading the graphics on my G2.

guess it doesnt help running 4 monitors along with everything else but been tinkering for years and think its time for a switch to a new sim.
