I had the same cpu before. A Change to 9900k was like day and night in VR. Of course then with faster RAM.

I managed to snag a 3080FE a couple days after the launch. Yesterday I put the whole computer out of my window to take advantage of the cold weather.
Managed to OC the 3080 to +280 core and +850 mem. It now boosts stably to 2250mhz :D

Wish i had LN2 equipment to truly test the chip.

I didn't buy it when it was just put on sale. Now the price of 30 series graphics cards in my country is too high to afford.

I think you mean Ethereum miners. Bitcoin needs asic miners and Ether works with GPUs They say it willl stop next month. It was suppossed to be from 24 June but no, mining is still profitable (but half as it was last month anyway). We will see a drop in the prices in the next months, also many second hand ones. Hopefully

Ordered a 3080 1/1-2021 - and just got it now! But it was worth the wait :)

Was running 10700K/RTX2080 and it is a big improvement in VR (Index) with the 3080 :) - But it is a lot of money for a GPU, even though I got it for the old price...

I was notified a few weeks ago that the 3080 that I ordered from EVGA when it was first released was ready and I could pay for it. MSRP. Nice, but I had already purchased a 3090 a few weeks after I signed up for the 3080. Only took a couple of years to be available.

Ive been waiting for a 3070/3080's for a couple years now. the prices have been to high that kinda puts things on hold but... im surprised your using the index. picked up the reverb g2 a over a year ago running on the 2070 super. maybe this summer i can upgrade the gpu but the software that comes with the G2 is amazing but none the less im getting off track. congrats on your upgrade.

I am now waiting on the 40 series GPUs, though with world instability being what it is that may be as rocky a road as it has been with the 30s series :(

I might pick up a 3080 for my desktop gaming PC but to be honest the 1080ti still plays everything on Ultra with the 10850
