    Thank you for the anser!
I think i will try with 2 and add more if needed. The servos are the same speck as yours (CYS S8503)

I am adding a wind simulator to my rig using the method suggested by @eaorobbie

    Components are:

    Arduino Uno R3 clone - £5
    Freetronics Ndrive https://www.freetronics.com.au/products/n-mosfet-driver-output-module#.XiTeZxffWnM - £2
    12v twin head car dash fans https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/153781142535 - £8.50
    Total - £15.50

It will be powered off the 12v DC PSU that's already on my rig. The fans only pull 1.25 amps so would only require a small 12v psu for about £4 if required.

The circuit (substitute light for fan)

So far I have tested by using the example fade analogue sketch in the arduino IDE and it works as expected.

Next will be to upload the code provided by @eaorobbie and get gamedash working and fans spinning using game data.

The fans provide a decent amount of airflow and will be good enough for my needs, although they are not the quietest, especially when spinning up from low voltage - quite a bit of coil whine. Very simple to change to any other fan later down the line. The Ndrive can be used up to 60v 20A.

The wind sim is now fully working using the sketch provided by @eaorobbie as seen in this test with LFS

The added vr immersion is really impressive and all for £15 :thumbs

Awesome! I'm planning to do this eventually myself.

    @early_m

Just wanna give you some props on making a real nice set up. You've inspired me to take the leap. Ill be building something similar to yours. Im going to add some thigh side flaps to go along with your upper side flaps. If you had to do it again would you change any design? Less servos in the back or front? More servos on your side flaps maybe?

Also what PSU do you find sufficient for them 12 servos, would 12V 20A be enough?

You do this very technically, and I want to do it in the future

Thanks, I had a lot of fun designing and building it. Thigh side flaps would be a great addition. Unfortunately, I was limited to budget and therefore the type/style of car seat which limited the design. If I did it again I would go for more of a sports style seat which would give deeper side flaps. Also add a 4 point harness for braking g's.

The amount of servos has been fine, don't notice them struggling. PSU depends on the peak current, think mine is actually 42A as I have 12 servos total. Bests to have a bit more in the tank. The base shaker and wind sim all run off the same PSU also.

Good luck with your design, be interested to see what you come up with and happy to help along the way.

Parts have arrived my friend! Thank you for the thoughtful response. I went with the 12v 30A PSU...hopefully enough! I got sucked into only looking at torque rating and speed so I picked up these DS3235 servos. at 6v they say 32KG but they are fast at .12 sec/60*. They are small though. 1/10th servo vs those 1/5th servos I believe you got. Hopfully they will be ok and not get to hot. But if they do then V2 is coming! Most my weight is on the 2 back panels so I will have 6 there.

Tonight is writing some simple code to test the 12 servos and the Im going to the junk yard for a seat tomorrow to find something race-ie.

Ill keep you posted! and again thanks for the nice write up for me to use as a guide.

Shoot I forgot to ask...For your harness, do you plan on making a tensioner for her?

No plan for a harness on this rig, the seat won't really support it. But if I did, I'd add a tensioner with a couple for servos.

Nice servos, mine are 30KG so they look a nice fast and powerful little package. Cheap too if my price findings are correct (aliexpress). Stall current of about 2A so 30A PSU will be plenty (after you step down you'll have 60A approx). Will give you scope to add more servos to the back if you need them.

Good luck witht he testing looking forward to seeing more

Im thinking about selling my rig. Either the whole frame or just the chair. But I have no idea what its worth. I guess only as much as someone's willing to pay.

My thread is quite detailed and shows the components and time/effort Ive put into it.

Id probably look to keep the wind sim and base shaker setups for use on a future project, but the G27 can be included.

Be great to hear opinions on what kind of figure I should be putting on it.

    Cheers.
