I am experiencing a weird problem
Yesterday evening I updated my win to the May update and after the update my motion platform behaves strangely.
The motion is not smooth anymore, it's very jerky.
The first thing I did was to ensure my regional settings where still the same, and yes I still have the dot (.) as decimal separator (I am using dcs world).
Then I tried to disconnect all usb devices leaving only the motion platform, stick ,pimax and a mouse but I still have the issue.
Before the update the motion was perfect using simtools 2.4 pro and dcs experimental plugin.
Has anybody come across a similar issue after win update?

    Update....
I tried to connect my motion platform to my old computer.
I haven't done the May update on this PC
Well the motion platform works perfectly.
It's definitely something introduced with the update.
    But I don't know what....

    Update...
This morning I troubleshooted a little bit
Initially I checked that all the power saving options were disabled for the usb controllers and for anything else for that matter.
I don't know why but I feel it's something to do with usb or anyway something to do with the way the motion platform receives data from the computer.
The motion is jerky because I can feel every single step the motors are doing, and this is because the motion is somewhat slowed down.
I don't know how to better explain this thing.
Anyway nothing seemed to fix it.
So I decided as a last resort to roll back to the previous windows version.
I rolled back from win 2004 to version 1909 and PROBLEM FIXED!
    The motion is perfect again.
Now I am not saying that for sure the update is the problem, it might be something specific to my computer, some driver that doesn't work well with the new update may be, who knows.
But the problem is only showing with win 2004 update.
Now what will it happen when the update becomes mandatory????

I also had problems with today after the update. In iracing, the range of movements seemed to drop by 90% (full range available when testing manually). I spent some time with the tuning tool and it's all back to normal now with the new settings.

Now only Gamevibe won't autostart with Windows and it seems to crash every now and then. But when started again manually, it works ok.

    Interesting, thx for posting.

We will just have to keep collecting data on the problem, I'm sure we can figure out whats going on.
My guess is a clean install on 2004 would work just fine, but i have not had time to try it out yet.
    Thanks for the info guys!
    Take care,

What do you do to roll back to 1909?

Wondered if you were able to verify this?
I have never used motion on anything other than a fresh install (I never do updates) of Win 10 v2004.
Some users believe that I am not experiencing the motion system as it should be, and I don't know any different.
It's the best part of a day to do a fresh Win 10 install if I chose to try out going back to Win 10 v1909, and wish there was some help I could get to understand whether or not my motion system is performing as it should with the clean install of Win 10 v2004 before wasting many hours going back to an old version of Windows.

@yobuddy - is there anything you might suggest in terms of diagnostic tests or observations to know if my motion system is performing as it should?
3DOF 150mm Mega Monster PT Actuators - tripod style with one axis front and center of rig, 2 other actuators one on each side of rig seat.

like i mentioned to you before, i updated myself to 2004 and at first i thought the motion felt different but after more races dont in iracing, it doesnt feel different than i had it before.
There are people that think their motion is definitely worse than before though, but i dont think im one of those affected.
Some have noticed using the game manager global profile game from 100% down to 99% drops the power of the actuators by alot. You can try test that also and see if dropping from 100% power to 99 makes a big change in the motion you’re feeling.
But if you think your motion feels good, i would leave it alone

    Thanks Mike.
The thing is, I don't know what I don't know.
So it may be running like crap in comparison to Win 10 v1909

I will test out the iRacing overall power slider to see if that makes a noticeable difference just going from 100% to 99%.
    Cheers!

This is a test of me accelerating and braking in a GT3 car in iRacing.
Let me know if you see anything odd.

Pitch, roll and heave axis all at 15%, surge at 24% with stronger emphasis on the motion sensation under braking.
The little 'bobbles' you see is when the car stops quickly under braking and the suspension rocks back and forth a little -completely normal and mirrored in the virtual car's weight transfer

I'm running a 3DOF 150mm Mega Monster PT Actuator kit and everything seems find here.
I have not seen any slowdowns on any setup so far that a reboot didn't fix.
    But I'm always collecting info.
    Take care,

I experience the same problems. I recently updated from Simtools 1.x to 2.4 (and 2.5 after that) and i notice jerky motion in SimTools axis testing. I have an arduino SMC3 setup with Monster Moto's (2DOF). The SMC3util program which we can use to test drive the motors is working nice and smooth, no problems. But when i do an axis output test with SimTools it gets rough and jerky.

Now i have the Windows 10 2004 update installed, but it looks more of a SimTools problem as the SMC3 test program functions perfectly and Axis testing in SimTools does not. Any thoughts?

Within 10 days of the update, you can go to Settings\Update\Recovery then if available "Go back to previous" otherwise you'll need to do clean install.
