Hello, I'm just starting to build a 2dof system, I have already bought some parts, I have a question that haunts me, where to place the motors, I have bosch wiper motors, please tell me where is the best and most practical place to place the motors? what are the + and - of different locations
    1 - under your feet
    2- behind the shoulders
Thank you all in advance, I do not want to go into mathematical calculations, I want to know the opinion of people who use such schemes 16007537308172620440050216367368.jpg

Behind the shoulders you can give it more angle and inclination, and it is less effort for your engines, I have them as well and I also use the car bosch, but I have them at the lumbar height, but with an angle and with the cranks inclined, looking for the least effort of the motors, use simcal to get an idea, under the legs suffer much more.
    use traslator.

These types of engines have strength if you put them like this, but they get very hot if you use them more than 1h, currently I am looking to exchange them for better and new ones, but I do not find them here in Spain, that is why I tell you that you better look for a way to get less hot or use more professional engines.

thanks for the answer, I played with simcalc and realized that under my feet, besides compactness, there are no more advantages, you need powerful motors with a large shoulder to have a decent motor angle,
I decided to install behind my shoulders))

If you have room is the best decision, and it will give more strength to your simulator, with less effort for your engines, look for the right angle with simcal gets a good idea of the forces that are applied according to the angle you use, putting the axes of the motors at a 30 degree angle also helps to give it more strength.

Unfortunately, I am limited by free space and I will have to make everything as compact as possible
