Question Suitable Motor/Gearbox options for 2dof with Tl, Searched to no avail

    Hi Everyone,

    I've finally bitten the bullet and started gathering parts for my first motion simulator, I will start my build thread once i have the last peice to the puzzle....the motor/gearboxes

    So far i have:

    Arduino Uno

    3X Hall effect pots, 6127V1A180L.5FS, , @noorbeast Found a post where you recommended them, Thank you

    3X Cytron 30A Dc motor Drivers Rev 2, After some research on here and seeing a few members using them i decided to give it a go, Hopefully they will be fine

    I am a welder/Fabricator by trade and have alerady made my own static sim but its time to step up haha,

    But im a little lost with motors now, Motion dynamics are out of stock and no rock solid Eta on restocking time, Is there anything that is on par or better around the same price point, I dont mind ordering from China, I'm Located in Perth, Western Australia, If that helps.

    Also another one im struggling to find an accurate straight forward answer on is Powering the whole thing,

    IE: do i need a power supply and battery for each driver? If i need a power supply for all 3 drivers can i still use one largeish battery? also was curious about connecting the power supply to the battery would it not try to charge it?

    I'm reasonably good with electronics, I have made my own button box and my own h pattern/sequential shifter,
    I'm right into rc crawling and custom builds ect However Arduino is a new thing for me haha

    I've spent a bit of time reading through your build and @Erwan960 build today, I've also always had a build like @Halloween2go in mind and room isn't an issue , I claimed the entire theatre room as my "game room" when we built our house lol, Options are rather open, I did read through the section on erwans build today that said he had the 180w or 200w motors with 25:1 and ended up going for 60:1 and in the video it looks good still,

    I'm around 110kg, My kids are also car crazy but i understand it will be difficult to get the balance right for multiple weights

    I like the way your sim uses a center rail for mounting pedals and the wheel, i may follow that direction to reduce weight,

    i will also be using the oculus rift predominantly, so no huge triple setup hanging off it

    Oh Sick build by the way man, Your attention to detail is awesome and i really like the versatility between racing and flight, If i was more into flight i would leaning that way for sure.

    I'm in the process of sorting out the coding for it all atm, will post it up in the next few days

    I built the button box a few years ago and is rather simplistic it has 16 push buttons most are wired to a xbox 360 wired controller, I had intentions of going the arduino route with it at the time but wanted something quick and easy.

    The h pattern/sequential i have been working on it off an on for a few years i think the h pattern side of it was from a member on here, i will confirm before posting it up to make sure i give them credit for there part of the design, Its a little different in its workings, The H gateway is on the bottom and simply changing your ball type shifter knob to a sequential stick style knob changes the way the mechanism works to either retain a gear position or return to center, a Simple slip on bracket stops the side to side movement,

    I have designed it all on cad for 3d printing, i'm up to the wiring stage for testing and still need to get my shifter knobs sorted which isnt a biggy,

    Currently my button box, My diy handbrake and my Diy stainless sequential only shifter run off the xbox controller, Problem is some games dont let you keybind both the controller and wheel very well, So time for an arduino upgrade!

    I really just need to get the Coding sorted and i can wire it all up for testing.
